Rocksmith. The real guitar hero game with a Real guitar.

So here on the 18th of this month Rocksmith will be coming out (yes the same day as the new batman game) and it looks great. With all of the reviews I have read about it I think that a game that allows the player to use an actual guitar has to be one of the best things that you can do to really get the player interested.

I mean really, a real guitar. A real guitar.
I will be the first to say that I don't know how to play a guitar. But to have a VIDEO GAME that will teach you to play one is amazing.

I'm actually quite intrigued by this. My wife has been saying she wants to learn an instrument, this might be just the thing to get her started (since I figure she'll lose interest soon enough)

I know right. The game with GameStop is only 80.00. Ya it's a little much but has all you need to play the game but with out the guitar and if you sent the 200.00 on it like I did.
You will get everything you need and the guitar you get is an epiphone les Paul jr which is a fairly decent one.

I'm also interested in this. I thought Rock Band 3 was on the right track with emulating guitar mechanics, but this looks promising. It'll put my Squier Strat to use.

I'm curious what DLC they'll offer. The songs are supposed to be simpler but not a lot of the known songs are particularly interesting, even compared to the entry songs on GH/RB overall.

Well I am guessing if this goes well, they will introduce more intricate playing and/or genres with expansions, sequels and dlc. It would be kind of cool to have a duel mode, but I am guessing not many people have 2 guitars laying around unless they already know how to play lol.

Very nice. I'll be using ye ol' Fender Strat. Can't find my camera, and I'm lazy, but she looks similar to http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0141102303. Except I've got a humbucker, a maple neck, and black knobs/pickups. .. so maybe not so similar at all aside from the fact that they're both Strats.

Slightly off topic: Good choice on the Omen 6. I loved mine, and now have a Schecter Hellraiser. IMO it's one of the top brands as far as value is concerned. You get a very well made instrument for the money.

Back on topic: I'd really only be interested in the PC version, which doesn't release till December (if then). If the console version gets solid reviews then I'll feel more comfortable pre-ordering the PC version. $25 to GC is a nice bonus.

So went in to pick it up after waking my ass up from a dead sleep at 11:37pm I go in to the GameStop to get it and they proceed to tell me "ya sorry dude we didn't get it in".

They had the normal version of it, they had all the different versions of batman in but they didn't have me $200.00 preorder version of Rocksmith in which is the one that comes with a guitar to play the game.
WTF!!!!!

The manager told me that due to this error in there shipping system they where going to talk to their distract manager and see what they could do to credit back some of the game but I will have to wait till tomorrow at around 1:00pm tomorrow to find out what I am going to get as for some sort of credit as there way of saying sorry. And not to even mention if it is even there tomorrow and if I'm going to have to wait even longer to get it.

Again I say, WFT!!!!!!!!

I am never going to shop at GameStop again.

So update on the Game. I am not going to get it until tomorrow or sometime there after due to ubi soft dropped the ball on sending out the bundle version of the game and forgot the release date for it was today.
Hopefully the guy at GameStop will be able to follow through and get ubi soft to give some extra stuff for the game.
I'm hoping it's codes for prerelease items that can't be gotten anywhere other then from then.

I've been playing less and less these days too. I mean I usually pick it up a couple times a month... but I'm just not getting anywhere with it. Something like this would be nice as it's much more entertaining to play with the full band music rather than just playing alone, and looks like it might teach you some stuff too. I've pretty much reached the end of what I can teach myself.

well, for the price, i think i will find it worth it. bought this guitar almost 2 years ago, still can't play. hope this will help learn and find some fun while trying
