We'll see, but I'm guessing they will codify interracial marriage. I just don't see all >80% voting against that.

Like Alito said it’s not a deep rooted enumerated right so it’s fair game.

Republicans have been wanting to go there ever Trump made it fashionable to be openly racist

Yeah, but they also haven't been running a decades long war against interracial marriage like they have with abortion and contraception.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I see that one passing on an unanimous voice vote.

Again, it wasn't fashionable to be openly racist. Now it is. Why would you all of a sudden ascribe moral character to Republicans?

Are we forgetting in the early 2000sies a so called Christian college had a policy against interracial dating? Not that long ago. Once that made the news they were forced to rescind it. Not because they thought it was wrong.

The stalwarts of the Republican Party are already voting no. The rest of the deplorable caucus will follow.
'An easy one for me': Marjorie Taylor Greene to vote 'no' on contraceptive rights (msn.com)
I doubt anyone considers MTG as a stalwart of the Republican party. While I think they will vote this bill down, it is not because of her. Watch what McConnell has to say about it, he will ultimately decide if enough Republicans vote for it or not.
Although I have to say her political maneuvering here is kind of brilliant. The GOP wants to vote against a number of these issues, but they also know that is a terribly unpopular opinion. So, her answer is to pretend that it is a 'protest' vote on a non-issue. The Democrat's replay should be to ask her exactly what she is protesting, but they won't. Once again they will act like the Republicans are being sincere.

The response is simple. A bunch of racists want to control your choice of contraceptive

Republicans: "If you actually cared about Roe you would've codified it in the last 50 years!"

Also republicans: ""I'll be voting no to the fake, lying gay marriage bill because guess what?" she complained. "No one is taking away gay marriage. There's no reason to have this vote whatsoever. It should be a protest vote for every single Republican." "

I don't think they have any moral character. I just think they won't be stupid enough to fall into that trap.

I know it sucks to be them but you can blame your neighbor Brett. He set in motion the laws that allow citizens to stalk other citizens for prize money so I say this is fair game. Protestors are in their neighborhood to avoid running afoul of the law.

They should be putting pressure on Kavanaugh to move out of the neighborhood. Make it clear he's not wanted.

Here's a nice gem from alleged person who pays to have minors sex trafficked Matt Gaetz, too.
"Lesbian and bisexual women are more likely to experience sexual assault than heterosexual women, that their pregnancies are often involuntary. So these are individuals who would need access to abortion care," [Warbelow] said.

Gaetz replied: "We will shelve bisexual women for a moment because my question is about same-sex couples.
"That's inconvenient for my argument so let's just pretend that's not a thing"

.

There are direct correlations to access to birth control and maternal deaths.

But it's not like GOP policies ever gave a shit about women in the first place. So it's wasted arguing with them.

Wonder why NJ is so high? I was born there

It's very associated to demographics.

It's probably more a symptom of access to care than anything else there. Hospital systems are systemically terrible towards black populations.

Given that these opinions seem to stem from religion, and as someone that used to be religious (a number of years ago), I wondered... why are they so hateful? I came to realize that the methodology between the Republican party and some religious institutions are a match made in Heaven (pun intended). Back when I was in church (late 90's, early 00's), there was this strong push for keeping the state "clean". I mean... you didn't want to end up like the heathen states of Sodom or Gomorrah, right? Even though there are plenty of religious messages about being loving and good regardless of the nature of the person, there's such a strong focus on the evils of the world... and how everything bad is a sign of "the end times". I can't tell you how many times I've been told that everything I see are signs of the end times, or how such-and-such is a sign of the beast, etc.

Ultimately, it seems to me like both the church and the Republican party have been drumming up supporters through vitriolic means, and part of me wonders if both do it because it's easier to keep supporters that are frothing at the mouth rather than those that smile. I'm pretty sure we know the latter does it on purpose, but I wonder if the church has fallen prey to it, or if it was more of an accident.
