Awful big coincidence considering he's been teaching since 2011.Did you bother to read it?
"In an email obtained by the GWU student newspaper, The Hatchet, Thomas' co-instructor said the justice had informed him that he would be unavailable to teach this semester"
Sounds like Thomas quit.

I suspect he was told quit or we will fire you
If you actually believe the two are the same I suggest you leave the US. Not because of that stupid ‘love it or leave it’ saying, but because that will amply demonstrate the difference. If you try to leave the US nobody cares. If you try to leave North Korea they shoot you. That one country feels it necessary to do that to keep people there tells you everything you need to know.No universal healthcare. Representatives who actively subvert democracy. Representatives who bow to the whims of large corporate interests. Poor public transportation infrastructure. Expensive telecommunications infrastructure. A president who attempted a coup and still maintains popular support among 1 if the 2 major political parties. Courts stripping away rights like bodily autonomy. 1 of 2 major political parties using racist scare tactics as primary means of garnering support. 1 of 2 major political parties actively disenfranchising voters.
Yeah, sure sounds like a paradise to me.
And how close are we to a woman having to prove she is not pregnant to leave places like Texas, Alabama, and other red state? Or have be searched when entering to be sure they don't have any birth control or even condoms. If you actually believe the two are the same I suggest you leave the US. While the US has many, many problems it is not remotely the same as North Korea and the comparison is ridiculous. And how close are we to a woman having to prove she is not pregnant to leave places like Texas, Alabama, and other red state? The fact that we're even remotely headed in that direction is problematic enough. While the US has many, many problems it is not remotely the same as North Korea and the comparison is ridiculous.
America is in deep shit but it's nothing like North Korea. The fact that we're even remotely headed in that direction is problematic enough.
Of course the US isn't North Korea. But it doesn't have to be to see that it's not the majestical place of freedom that conservatives espouse. And again, we're headed in the wrong general direction as a whole

It's definitely really dumb. More dumb than using the slogan Defund the Police, which was really really dumbIf you would like to explain in clear terms and specific examples how the US resembles North Korea I'm happy to hear them but this comparison is very dumb and progressives look dumb when they make it.
I was creating an absurdist example of how while things may not be as bad, they might be closer in some respects than one would think. If you would like to explain in clear terms and specific examples how the US resembles North Korea I'm happy to hear them but this comparison is very dumb and progressives look dumb when they make it.

They really aren’t close though.I was creating an absurdist example of how while things may not be as bad, they might be closer in some respects than one would think.
You aren’t allowed to use hyperbole here, everything must be factual and serious!
Or, he didn't want to interact with what would probably be a rather hostile set of students.
Maybe you should apply to be a moderator. Will all of you stupid fucking assholes stop derailing the thread to argue about the goddamn dumbest shit imaginable?
Yeah, most likely he's a chicken shit that doesn't want to face the repercussions for his behavior. So, typical right-winger, can't handle what they dish out.
The point, in my opinion, isn't that America is or isn't North Korea. It is the rage at conservatives that lies behind such accusations. The rage is real enough and easily seen as justifiable and that's where the danger lies. Rage easily conflates to sloppy justification and stereotypical thinking, the kind of thinking behind mob violence and pogroms. Anybody trying to clarify the wrongness of such facile justifications easily becomes the object of thrown flaming torches or burned on the cross. The fact that we're even remotely headed in that direction is problematic enough.

I find that you have interesting things to say when you actually say them, but when you tell everybody else how worthless their points of views are it sort of makes me not want to listen. Would you care to tell us or me what it is you think we need to hear that is on topic? Alternatively, I would be willing to listen to why we shouldn't drift off topic in your opinion. Will all of you stupid fucking assholes stop derailing the thread to argue about the goddamn dumbest shit imaginable?

He was probably concerned that his students know the Constitution better than him as well, and that they'd basically show the legal arguments that show how he's completely wrong. Then again, they can probably just put his own rulings up and show what a fraud he is.
Reminds me of the public speaking teacher I had in high school who said she will fail anyone that gives a speech on abortion because she knows more than them (and apparently doctors and anyone else). She was a despicable troll of a woman, worked with 2 other teachers to try to get a 3rd fired because they were all anti-abortion and the other teacher was pro-choice.

How is this guy a judge? He's a freaking religious nutjob

Nah repugicans will just add this to the list on the contraceptive ban billWomen could engage in soft terrorism. In their place I think that's what I'd do.
In essence the plan is simple. Get your tubes tied.
