Well, obviously for anyone who knows my positions,
I got the one thing out of this court that I’ve been looking for for over 30 years - the overturn of Roe. And yes, I’m aware of the hell This country is going to in the coming years. That said, many other decisions come out of this court are, and likely more will be, nuts. Some plain destructive to a functional democracy.
As some have mentioned, I’d favor something like a scheme where ~15 justices are appointed but only 9 hear a case chosen by lottery. Also, an age cut off of 70, if it is constitutional. That should prevent 'super majorities' and balance the court. Congress needs to get to work on this, but first, democrats need a better strategy to win more seats over the next 10-20 years.
One must remember that there has been a republican 'project' to drive the American agenda for over 50+ years. They began to find success with the election of Reagan. I think it was
@nakedfrog that mentioned that it takes 40 years and $100B to buy the court. I think it was several 100s of Billions. There were many steps along the way, such as the concerted efforts to gain majorities in more state legislatures. When they go low, we go high just isn’t a winning strategy against a party that is waging no holds barred war.
