The right to bodily integrity. You cannot be forced to donate blood to save a life. We cannot harvest organs from dead people without their express written consent even to save a life. A woman deserves the same control over who gets to use her body to survive.
EXCELLENT POINT!!! That completely passes the logic test. Spock would wholeheartedly approve.

I am saving your post in my data for reuse. Kudos!

Edit (7/6/22): I read that verbatim on my radio show last week on KALX, Berkeley. I have another show today at 3PM PDT.

This really needs to highlighted IMO.

We need to give the opponents of Team Treason a real majority, only then can they move on the filibuster and writing certain protections into law. All the outraged Americans who finally accept what Team Treason did, and has in store for us, need to make themselves heard. There is no fixing SCOTUS (anything really) when traitors run government, it's that simple people. They need to be voted out in numbers impossible to ignore.

But with political breakdown of 30/30/40, one would think the independent would lean more left. I get for POTUS and the EC, favours small red states. But even with gerrymandering, doesn’t explain more than 50% R controlled municipal and state level.

The Criminal Ken Paxton has said he will enforce the Texas Sodomy law overturned by Lawrence v Texas of the Supreme Court overturns it. Still not sure how that guy has gotten to delay his criminal trial for almost a decade and re-elected twice.

The court today also dramatically undermined tribal sovereignty which would also have the effect of likely preventing clinics on tribal lands. Yet another major reversal of precedent.

There is nothing this court will not overturn to further its political and moralistic goals for the country.

The logical conclusion if you turn the clock back enough is the defined patriarchy and its derived consequences.

I’d like to see this guy get a crack at AG sometime:

A Texas sheriff, whose beat largely includes the city of San Antonio, has declared he would not be pursuing those in his jurisdiction who choose to get an abortion after the supreme court scrapping of federal abortion rights.

“Shame on the supreme court and the bureaucrats in Washington DC and Austin who are attempting to impose their own supposed morals on others. They will not use my badge or the color of my office to do so. My job is chasing predators, rapists, and human traffickers, not someone exercising a right. If it’s religion those career politicians would like to enforce, then they should remember that there are many other commandments in scripture that they themselves have very publicly chosen to ignore.”

But you know, those Bernie Bros had to not vote for Hillary because she get some questions before a debate.

Who _are_ these alleged "Bernie Bros"? I keep hearing them blamed for everything, but I'm skeptical they actually exist. Seems like an invented bogeyman to me.

I have seen a handful of examples of real people who supposedly switched from supporting Sanders to Trump, and I find that nigh-on incomprehensible - but put it down to either ultra-sneaky false-flag games, or just the strange and alien political context of the US.

I also doubt that many Bernie supporters stayed at home in 2016. The only ones I know personally certainly went and voted for the 'least bad option'. I don't believe that explains Hilary's loss. First-and-foremost the blame lies with the crappy US electoral system.

I'm seeing some stories about "whispers" of Hillary in 2024. I'm even getting fundraising emails for the democrats from her. Here's a story from NPR about it - they also mention that 25 percent of Clinton voters went to McCain over Obama.

There have been several people in these forums that either didn't vote or voted green because "poor Bernie."

Can you link to these stories? I strongly suspect they are from right wing media attempting to rile their readers up.

Also that article seems to be missing an extremely obvious reason - that plenty of states have open primaries and the people who voted for Sanders were Republicans trying to prop him up to weaken Clinton. Same thing in 2008 - it was called 'Operation Chaos' by Rush Limbaugh.

It is baffling how the article does not even attempt to account for this.

Haha - called it.

In the immediate aftermath of the Supreme Court's monumental decision to overturn Roe v Wade, conservative writer John Ellis took to the internet to make a provocative case: It was time for Hillary Clinton to make a(nother) political comeback.
"Now is her moment," he wrote. "The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade creates the opening for Hillary Clinton to get out of stealth mode and start down the path toward declaring her candidacy for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination."

Well the idiots that voted Stein made all the difference in the 3 rust belt states. Instead of I don’t want to vote for either, I’ll vote 3rd party. Their selfishness caused everything these past 6 years

Kinda hard when they're about to be voted IN, in numbers impossible to ignore this November.

The Secretary of State races are really going to be the ones to watch. We can get past a bad Congress. Can't get past whoever controls the election levers.

Pennsylvania is a closed primary, the other 2 they mention (Michigan & Wisconsin) are open. Rush wanted people to re-register as democrat for the primary. I thought Newt Gingrich was calling for something similar in Georgia (voting for other party since GA is open), but don't recall if that was an earlier election or not.

If my math is correct, Wisconsin, Michigan, and New Hampshire were the only 3 states where Clinton would have won had she gotten all of the Stein votes. That's only 30 electoral votes, still leaving Trump over 270. As far as 3rd parties, Gary Johnson received more votes than Jill Stein in every state, so 3rd parties took more from Trump.

Biden backs anti-abortion Republican for Kentucky judgeship in apparent McConnell deal

President Biden is poised to nominate a conservative Republican anti-abortion lawyer for a lifetime appointment as a federal judge in Kentucky, a nomination strongly opposed by fellow Democrat and U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Louisville.
The nomination of Chad Meredith appears to be the result of a deal with U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, ostensibly in exchange for the Senate Minority Leader agreeing not to hold up future federal nominations by the Biden White House, according to Yarmuth and other officials who confirmed the pending nomination to The Courier Journal.

Robert Steurer, a spokesman for McConnell, said he would have no comment until Biden makes his nomination.
Meredith also declined to respond to a request for comment, as did a spokeswoman for Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat.
The White House also declined to comment, saying "we do not comment on vacancies."

I told you to check for her under your bed! Hillary could be anywhere - even in this very thread!

Has he not learned anything regarding Mitch McTurtle's behavior over the last 3 decades? Why should anyone give Mitch what the wants when what you get in return is a "promise" to do or not do something in the future? When, not if, Mitch refuses to play ball down the road, there's no leverage anymore to get him to cooperate; you've already given him what he wanted in the first place.

Why anyone believes anything coming out of a Republican politician or nominee's mouth is utterly stupefying to me. They always argue in bad faith.
