Biden will sign exec order to help protect choice. Some of that relies on rights to birth control under Obamacare i.e. ACA. YOU know what THAT means... ACA Obamacare will once again be a target of republicans should they gain control. So here we go again, their new attempts to kill off what is left of Obamacare and this time because of the birth control safeguards.
I really do hope that voters are paying attention. How we vote will definitely make a huge difference. That vote, that simple act of casting a ballot will matter more now than ever before. That simple vote will mean more than all the money a super pack can spend or that dark money can invest.

And I'll go further. Whoever controls the house and senate in 2022 and eventually the presidency come 2024 will mean the life or death of social security AND medicare.
People CAN NOT imagine a president nor congress actually ending social security or medicare..... BUT I CAN.
And they will do this with the same smug "we don't give a damn about you" attitude as we seen with the overturning or Roe vs Wade.
Yeah.... people JUST CAN NOT IMAGNE until...... it actually happens.

If "THEY" gain control, then "THEY" can and they will do whatever "THEY" want to do.
And remember what Donald Trump did and said during covid.
Trump stopped SS taxes from being withheld from paychecks to give workers "a little more take-home pay". But then Trump actually went on to say and I quote, "after we win the election we might make this permanent".
Need I say more about the future of SS and Medicare under republican rule? If there are no SS taxes coming in then there are no Social Security checks going out. Do the math.... do the math for yourself.

Technically, the law doesnt say the fetus is an actual person. Texas just wants to control women. They dont give a shit about human rights.

Some woman in Texas that is 34 weeks pregnant rode in the HOV lane and got pulled over. She argued that her fetus was a person since the overturning of Roe v Wade. She got a ticket and said she is going to fight it in court.

Lol, Texas and Federal courts will refuse to address the logical inconsistency

I am pretty confident if she ran a stop sign and was in an accident that killed the fetus under Texas law a prosecutor could make an argument she is at least guilty of manslaughter. If drugs were involved a prosecutor would probably argue for murder.

They'll add a charge for endangering the welfare of the child since it wasn't in a safety seat. They'll make her pay one way or the other.

The Repubs will of course rationalize their emotions around any challenges they see that are a threat to their stance on this issue. There is nothing that's logical that can withstand their primal desire to cling to power as their numbers suffer from the demographic shift the nation is going through.

They have the SCOTUS in hand and they will abuse that advantage in any and all ways possible, their imaginations being the singular limit to its extent, whereby as before, Our Constitution will simply be reinterpreted in their favor through this thoroughly corrupted court of theirs.

What I love about this is, no woman can ride in a car unless she can personally fit in a child seat, since she could be pregnant. Just perfect.

What are the rules for babies on motorcycles?

What points do you see as being incorrect?

Well first thing should be noticed is that this is written by a Republican political operative so it's not like they are some impartial journalist.

1) First and most obvious unfounded assertions were that the federal government can't protect access to abortion drugs and contraception because that argument relies on the idea that states can ban FDA approved drugs - this is a very bad idea as it replaces our current single regulatory regime for drugs with 50 separate ones. I mean with this Calvinball court I don't see it beyond something they would decide but saying that states can just override the FDA when they feel like it is a remarkable assertion she makes with zero evidence.

2) Pro bono attorneys are by definition not paid so I'm not sure how she got taxpayer dollars out of that.

3) Her claim that the Supreme Court removed the executive's ability to protect abortion rights is just made up.

So basically this is an opinion piece by a Republican operative that makes a bunch of wide ranging assertions with no evidence to support them. Should be thrown in the trash.

Surprisingly seems TX may allow this.
Current theory is the Judge will rule in a term I forgot but essentially it is not setting a standard by saying “In regards to Justice this is okay for her on that day on that road” and case ends there. What happens with the next is unknown.
Apparently some local TX Lawmakers are working on amending the shared lane rules TO INCLUDE PREGNANT WOMEN .
However the whole case does bring interesting questions like:
Does the unborn count towards district size?
Does the unborn count as a dependent for taxation
Is the unborn covered with Moms life insurance, if something goes wrong does the insurer have to pay.

US is bifurcating into 1st world and 3rd world states in terms of rights. And it might eventually disintegrate along those lines. Now is time to pick what world you want to end up in.

Since we can’t know how many “kids” a fertilized egg will become and that identical quintuplets are possible just declare 5 kids on your taxes.

Well...
In Roe v. Wade, the state of Texas argued that "the fetus is a 'person' within the language and meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment."
Also:
"Individual" means a human being who is alive, including an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth.

Keep in mind the law for the shared lane could easily be crafted as butts-in-seats.
To my understanding the law is intentionally a little vague.
