Even the care I had in the military was much better. And private care was light years better. And, as I said, this is in 5 states.

And what of the vets in that VA thread who said they liked their VA care? I bet it makes 'sense' to them.

It's almost like you and the vets you know are a small sample size of all vets who have used the VA system or something.

Did you fail statistics by any chance?

Phokus,

Just for a minute, drop the partisan hackstick and answer my question honestly, okay? Please?

Because you know the answer you would give and you don't like it, do you?

I did answer your question. You still haven't answered why your anecdotes are valid but vets who praise the VA are apparently lying bastards.

With all these studies showing patient satisfaction, there must be a HUGE conspiracy afoot by veterans to make socialized healthcare look better than it actually is.

There are hundreds of VA clinics and hospitals. I can only speak for the ones I have been to. They can only speak for the ones they have been in.

Now please, just answer my question honestly.

And no, I don't think there is some grand conspiracy afoot.

The case may very well be that in certain areas the VA care is very poor, and those are the areas I've lived. I don't know. But I have no idea why it would suck so bad in LA. I can see central IL and places near military bases in the south... but LA? Why?

If you were to answer my question honestly (which you can't seem to) you'd say you would never go back to that resturant no matter what anyone said. You'd say you know better.

Of course i wouldn't go to any of those 5 restaurant locations ever again. But say that restaurant has 2000 locations throughout the US and i move to another city and the locals say the restaurant is good (and the vast majority of people in the US back that up and say they like it), then if i eat there and enjoy it, i'll start going regularly and write those 5 other locations off as being outliers and not the standard.

If i had to hypothesize your situation, i'm almost willing to bet you're suffering from cognitive dissonance so when something 'bad' happens to you at a VA hospital, you use that experience to confirm your ideological bias and magnify the maltreatment more than you would if you experienced the same thing at a private hospital.

That, and perhaps you were a patient at the VA before they reformed it.

Now fess up, Phokus. You'd bad mouth the entire chain and disregard any positive customer service survey's you saw. You know you would.

If i knew nothing about how satisfied everyone else was with the chain? If i didn't know that every other restaurant chain had lower satisfaction than this one? Yes, i would bad mouth it... out of ignorance

But if i knew that not only did the vast majority of people were satisfied, but they had the highest satisfaction rate in the industry, i would be curious and would keep an open mind when i saw locations outside of the ones i saw.

I remember a few years ago a KFC was overrun by rats in an NYC location and they had to shut it down. I bet the customers near that KFC have a completely different view of KFC than your national average.

Of course you can't respond to the claim that maybe your ideological persuasion might amplify problems you faced at the VA, because you know deep down it's probably true
