i wish the US would outlaw using cellphones in a car while driving. you want an earpiece or speaker ..fine. but, for the love.... what pisses me off the most is seeing some a$$hat with a phone in one hand and Cig, or coffee in another. ppl like this need to be taken out of the gene pool imho.

Fvck me, this isn't about handheld or not. It's the gimpish stupid statements. People manage to screw around with radios, smoke, eat, drink and do god knows what else whilst driving. It may not be optimal but it happens day in, day out. Hell, they busted that woman last year for eating an apple, ROFL. Oh noes, the apple of doom!

All they have to say is "It's more dangerous to use a handheld, especially texting or using the menus etc". Yes I have a bug up my ass about this kind of BS. Saying it's impossible just annoys freaks like me, and makes the worst offenders, i.e. chavvy youths, want to do it more.

I don't even use my headset, nothing is that urgent that it can't wait til I've got to where I'm going. Good thing I didn't pay for it really.

If the end result of people being distracted using cell phones was that they drove themselves headlong into a brick wall and their own fiery death, that would be one thing. But my experience has been that these bastards end up obliviously putting other more responsible drivers at risk as they go 30 in a 45 or whip across three lanes to make their turn or don't bother checking their blind spots or swerve into other lanes. All of which result in other drives around them having to take evasive action while they go on their merry stupid way.
