The last competitive pitches he threw were at the WBC in march. He needs a few minor league starts to get back in gear, they can't throw him at MLB hitters after a 2.5 month vacation. He also held out til now because last year he starting ailing at the end of the season and wanted to shorten this season so he could make it through the whole year strong (makes sense for a 43 year old guy). I'm not a big fan of the possibly retiring/possibly coming back act he put on this spring to feed the rumors mills and start a bidding war between teams. It was always my belief that he would come back to the astro's after sitting out the first few months, but he put them in an uncomfortable position for most of the offseason/early season. This guy is, however, a great competitor and one of my favorite ball players to watch, so I'm glad I'll get one more look before he's off to the hall of fame.
