Roger Ebert dead at 70.

RIP -- in any sort of recent memory, I have ignored most critic's reviews, however, his were always worth a look if I was truly interested in a movie. He seemed to be able to adjust his evaluation to the kind of movie itself, and was well-written and knowledgeable.

But for real, this saddens me. Being a Chicago guy and a movie lover, I always enjoyed his reviews and found my views aligning with his more than any other reviewer. Will miss the old guy.

My fiancee's dad passed away from stomach cancer just last summer.

My college youth pastor passed away from cancer.

My HS reverend (amazing guy, even though I no longer beleive) lost his 13 year old son to bone cancer 9 years ago.

My wedding caterer told me he's going to his brother's funeral last Sunday. Throat cancer and it spread all over, left 2 teenage kids.

And he told me both of his parents died from cancer.

Fvck cancer.
