There was no need for all that IMO. Like why was there a CNN Truck there?

If you haven't caught up yet, "All that" is exactly what happens when arresting someone who does things like threaten others with harm. "Prepare to die" isn't a metaphor accepted by law enforcement.

CNN was there because of good reporting skills. A reporter in the halls noticed an attorney which is involved with Stone's case leaving a prosecutors office. Between that and grand jury activity, it was determined that it's better safe than sorry so they scoped out Stone. Old fashioned on the ground reporter who was thinking was rewarded with good luck he or she made.

Rumor has it he doesn't have or own a weapon (firearm).

This makes no sense. You are serving warrants to a felony suspect who has threatened others. "Rumor has it" is an eventual death sentence and no one was going to die that day.

What has been discussed in this thread is that CNN staked out Stone's house, anticipating a possible arrest given their monitoring of the Mueller grand jury. I don't know for certain this is how things went down, but it's the only theory with actual evidence (cameraman report), and I find it perfectly plausible. Thus, I don't see the point in attacking their coverage unless you have actual evidence supporting an alternate theory or discrediting this one.

CNN put up an article detailing the why and how they ended up at Stone's house before the FBI https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/25/politics/roger-stone-raid/index.html. .I, too, find the explanation plausible and I, too, can't attest to its accuracy. It does however, work better for me than the "someone on the internet said they must have been tipped off and so that must be true even though there is absolutely nothing to back it up " school of thought some here seem to be promoting.

Also, on Thursday night, CNN's Don Lemon was interviewing Shimon Prokupecz. It's almost like he predicted
what was going to happen on Friday and who may be the target. Good investigative reporting by Shimon Prokupecz.
Watch the 2 minute video.

Or maybe they just wanted to give Stone a little taste of the life they have planned for him. It's a whole different level of understanding.

As to why the FBI conducted the arrest in this manner -- I don't know. But I will scoff at the idea that it was done for publicity sake and masturbatory enjoyment of critics of the President. Others have offered alternative theories which are far more logical. Do you have any evidence to support your theory?

I didn't attack anyone's coverage. I only thought it was strange that they were the only one present. First I have heard of a stakeout and a cameraman's report.

You have a 66 year old man, they are going to arrest. . I don't think they needed a swat team all dressed out to knock on the door and say your sir are under arrest for blah, blah and blah. They have been up his colon for well over a year. They should know everything there is to know about him and what is or is not in his house. It is my opinion it was all about the show.

Why don't you ask Trump and the GOP? They had control of the presidency, house, senate, justice department and the FBI for 2 years with their appointees in charge. It wasn't due to a lack of them trying.
No. They didn't try. That's my point.

Really? Because during the Obama years we witnessed them bring investigation after investigation, eight in fact.

If you think it's incompetence then you are a lot dumber than I thought.
So you think the Republican controlled Justice Dept is competent?

Interesting.

Answer my question I'll answer yours

Absolutely they are competent. Are they perfect and have zero "bad apples" or idiots working for them? Of course not.

Now I'll await your reply and ask that you show, specifically how the justice department was incompetent in the way they handled investigations relating to Hillary (other than comey breaking department policy).

I was never talking about Hillary. I was talking about her aides who lied to the FBI, and curious why they weren't prosecutes.
