i dunno what has happened to fed over the last year or two. He used to be the one who controlled/dictated points. He used to be the one who painted the lines with impossible shots. Now everything that comes off his racquet seems dinky and just setting up a shot for the opponent. It's frustrating and sad.

Isn't that the way it happened with Sampras as well? And then he finally won the us open again.

Having made atleast every grand slam semi-final in the last 5 years isn't exactly a collapse tho.

well he seemed quite dominant then nadal improved a lot and started to challenge and eventually beat him. From then on whether it was sickness/injury or what, but he's seem to always been about 80-90% his former self at his best.

I'd rather have fed start serve in the 5th, but momentum is momentum

pretty amazing how universally loved fed is. I don't think there's a court anywhere...save for N. Korea that wouldn't rally behind him somewhat.

That 4th set could've gone either way. Federer could've made it 6-0 very easily or it could've been closer than it was...he needs to finish those break point opportunities the first time and be aggressive on the return. He's got porta on his heels, go for the kill!


edit: ah didn't watch the first couple sets. I still imagine nothing as obnoxious as the screaming that women do.
