Rolex Submariner or Omega Seamaster?

I'm trying to decide which of the two watches I should purchase. Price is not the issue, I'm looking for mainly Quality and Looks.

Rolex Submariner

Omega Seamaster

Now I'm looking for an everyday watch... I scratched my bezel up a little bit when I whacked my wrist against a chair.. not good!

I'm looking at Invicta watches, but I'm looking for maybe a blue dial submariner on SS. Does anyone know of a good reputable source for authentic Invicta watches?

For the love of Christ, get it from a reputable jewlery store. Don't go buying it on ebay where you're very likely to get a fake.

Now that's a NICE watch. The 'Lex is timeless though, it's a good choice no matter what. I just like the Seiko 'cause it's a nerd's dream!

Yes, I was definitely going to buy at an authorized dealer, especially for the warranty. The Seamaster seems like they go for 1/3 the price as well... How much did you pay for yours?

Honestly, I like the look of the Seamaster better, but some say that Rolex uses better movements.

Fine choices, Asharus. I was trying to make the same decision myself not 2 months prior and I went with the rolex, due simply to the charm one associates with the name. However, I later went on to purchase the omega seamaster, due to its greater functionality and robustness. I do a lot of deep sea diving and the rolex, though a fine watch, wasn't quite as sturdy for my needs.

Oh, BTW the above is a lie. I'm far too rich to be seen wearing either of those commoner's watches.

Omega is not in the same league as Rolex. Rolex is always a better investment as it will hold its resale value (actually appreciate!) whereas the Omega will not.

My everday watch is a Rolex Sea Dweller and it has not let me down ever.

You may find much more experienced feedback in the appropriate forum here.

There are also regarded individuals trading and buying/selling authentic timepieces all the time as well.

Avoid ebay unless you're experienced at buying estate timepieces and always maintain telephone and (if possible) personal contact with the seller BEFORE you decide.

I owned an older Rolex passed on to me by my father, that was passed on to him by his father. I wear a Citizen and frankly I see no difference between them. They both do what theyre supposed to do, tell time without trouble.


Do yourself a favor and buy a good citizen watch and take the money you save to go on a vacation to Hawaii.

If interested in the watch being noticed, go with Rolex. To many people, Omega isn't even a well-recognized name, or if known, not put in the same class because they haven't the sort of legendary history of the Rolex. I asked my wife if she would like a Tag H and she said "what's that?" She is well-educated and informed but had no recognition of the name. She did not recognize Omega at all. But, her dream was to buy me a Rolex.

I have a white face Explorer II I could let you have for $2600 the thing is mint i had it professionally refurbed with a new bezel, I have all the paper work box etc and original receipt, and if your going to buy onedo it soon, prices are supposed to be going up in January, substantially from what i hear.
