I lived in Sunriver for 5 yrs, now just your neighbor in WA.
I'm sorry. My sister lives in scumriver.
Why the bitterness?
No bitterness, I just grew up around there (La Pine actually). Just our name for the town, thats all.
Well, I didn't live inside of Sunriver! My house was in Oregon Water Wonderland, the address just happened to be a Sunriver address. That was the best place I've ever lived.
Holy crap, that is where my sister lives, in Oregon Water Wonderland that is.
That is not sunriver, that area is awesome. I lived out by Fall river hatchery for a while, but then moved to eastern Oregon.

I live in Banks ... you'd never know it was in Oregon if it didn't rain all winter here.
We have a 1/4 mile dirt race track that holds races every weekend all summer long. Right next to that is Sunset part with four baseball diamonds (no soccer field) and behind that is the local gun club, complete with shooting range.
You guys also have a tractor pull, an RC airport, and are near the Verboort Sausage Fest!

You should move back. The wife and I keep looking at this one new house in La Pine. I loved being 5 minutes from National Forest land---guns, 4x4's, fishing. It was great.

Yep, Banks is definitely the Bizarro version of Oregon ... though I would point out that North Plains is just as close to Verboort as Banks is.

My mom hails from Halfway and the Pine Valley in general. We'll be taking her back there this summer, her health permitting.
She and my elder siblings lived in such diverse places as Klamath Falls, Portland, and Prineville.

I'm not from Oregon, but I will say that Rogue makes awesome beer and the Tillamook County Smoker makes awesome Jerkey!
