I do it as I am walking to my car(s) to evacuate the heat from the car, then run the engine with AC on as I drive and then in 30 seconds raise windows, as the bulk of the heat is gone and AC starts cooling the car

Exactly, even though my car has remote-start with automatic AC engagement it's still fighting 150 degree air in there to try and cool the car down, I'd like to roll down the windows AND remote-start the car and just roll them back up when I get to it. car cannot be driven on a remote-start, nothing functions except the climate control.

I have it on 08' G35 and use it often since I rarely run my AC (live in WI). On the same note of key fob tricks, I had installer put in an Xpresskit just to get a simple 3x lock start using the stock fob. The range isn't great however it is still functional.

My 98 Passat would require you to hold the key in the door in the unlock position and the windows would roll down. A company designed a chip that tapped into the window switch and added the remote functionality. It required that the unlock button be pushed three times in succession for the windows to roll down, it made accidentally rolling them down impossible. It also added a vent feature, the windows would roll up, lock the car, then roll down slightly.

Sadly my '14 Fiesta ST does not have this feature. It isn't the end of the world but it was nice to have my windows rolled down for a few seconds prior to getting into the car after it has been sitting in the sun all day.

Doesn't work in my 08 Prius, does work in my 02 VW Passat but functionally useless design. Like basslover1 said, for VW you have to put the key in the doorlock, turn and hold it. If you have a remote why are you unlocking the door with the key and if you have to walk all the way out to the car door to wind the windows down, how much harder is it to step into the car and roll them them down normally? German engineering "logic" strikes again.

My old Saab 900 had this feature, I think, but frankly it was something I never used except to try it out. But then again I don't live in the deep south or arid west.

I've used it many times on my G35 but I always wished there was a way to roll them back up remotely as well.

See if you can find an alientech controller, they were like 30 bucks when I bought it, and it adds remote functionality. It is also possible that because you have an 02 your CCM can be reprogrammed to add remote functionality as well.
