I have an ice cream bucket FULL of change, I decided I should probably roll it and keep the $1 and $2s for my Tim Horton runs. I bought a few packs of those coin rolls. The issue I realize is that I'm running out of different types (ex: pennies) but have excess of other. Instead of buying like 10 bags just for the ones I'm missing, that I could make my own. Is there anywhere I can get templates online on cutting/folding them so they're standard size? I can probably figure it out myself and print some but if the work is already done, then bingo.

Also how many of you double count money before rolling? I use an auto sorter but I still find it can be a few coins off so I double count it to ensure I'm not scamming the bank, but then came to the realization, I bet most people don't even bother.

It's surprising how much change can realy add up. I'm 1/4 through the bucket and already have 160 bucks LOL.

I would highly recommend taking them to a Coin Star type machine. Do they have those there? I'm thinking Tim Hortons = Canada

The ones here in the states will let you keep all the money if you transfer them into an Amazon card or something like that. You may do good to look into that instead of trying to roll it all - you also will not have the need of purchasing rolls either. Just don't spill the bucket

Hmm never heard of those, don't think we have any here.

Though can I really bring the money just like that in a sack? or was that just a joke? I suppose if it's sorted they may have a way to count it, I don't know.

I haven't wrapped coins in probably 15 years. Your bank just cracks them into a sorter, so skip that step.

Yes your bank should sort it for you if you like. Customers may give you an evil eye though if there are a lot in there waiting.

Banks sorts them - similar to the coijn hoppers that you see in a casino or is used for toll plazas.

The coins either get pushed into a roll or stored in a bag which is wieghed/counted.

Just be helpful have the coins sorted by denomination if you take them to the bank.
It looks as if you care a little.

my bank has a centrifugal sorter. They dump the bag into the hopper and the drum spins, sorting the coins automatically by weight and size. They don't care if the coins are sorted and in fact do request you don't roll them, as it's just an extra step.
