The highest rated Radiohead entry. I agree with this one: OK Computer and Kid A just aren't as good despite the critical accolades they received when they were released. (I remember reading one pre-release review of Kid A saying that it was the most amazing, mindblowing album the reviewer had ever heard. Hyperbole!) When The Bends was released it was fashionable to pen Radiohead as a one hit wonder (Creep).

And different times -- you really need to separate lists like this by genre and decade / generation / wave, just as is done in Classical music (Baroque, Romantic, etc.) and in art (movements, styles).

Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys are all classics, and they were influential and the best of their generation, but if you go by those criteria people like Buddy Holly and Robert Johnson should be above them.

No. The Bends is an awesome rock album. OK Computer is a work of artistic genius.

Stranger Than Fiction is one of the great records of my generation. The problem is most people have never listened to it.

If you look at that top 10, there isn't much on there that was recorded after 1975.

People have a pre-conceived notion of what the Beach Boys were. Pet Sounds does not fall into that stereotype.
