man this place has gotten even more pathetic. all the drama and logic of a 14yo girl slumber party.

a bunch of naive retards going around trolling is worse than working for aeg, imo. which reminds me of some words of wisdom my father used to say:

"just because someone does something stupid, doesnt mean you can act like a retard".

I think when a individual post here and is paid to write pro or con against a product it should clearly be said in the post that this is commercial not an individual own subjective thinking. In my grown up world (yes i am a grown up, 26 years of age) here in Sweden we have laws that bans this kind of stuff.

If this person works for a company it should be clearly visibile, its a question of legitimacy and moral. Its like a journalist would write a review of an car and be paid by the company who made the car, its not right.

I like nvidia cards (for their great OpenGL support) but this kind of activity is just not right. And Nividia should stop using AEGs, they crushed 3dfx in the good old days with pure performance not advertising, as IT should be.

IMO SLI is a waste of money. You could buy 2 Xbox 360 for 1 7800 GTX 512 not to mention 4 for the price of 2 needed for SLI.

And you know a comparable 1 card solution is just around the corner just about every new generation card.

Well, that's funny because most review sites show the x1800xt winning by a few fps at those settings in FEAR, even at stock speeds. Re-Bench!

The reason ATI has much lower performance hits when AA is enabled is because ATI hardware and drivers do not apply AA to the entire scene. There is a distance cutoff point. Nvidia on the other hand applies AA to the entire scene at full distance, hence the much larger performance drop.

This is nobody's quote, this is just what I got out of a thread started here a few days ago where a GTX owner purchased an X1900XT and complained that it seemed the ATI card did not apply AA for distances and noticed pronounced aliasing past certain points no matter what settings he tried. This is after a hdd wipe and fresh winders install.

Just a question to throw out there. It would be interesting to see how the different sides field this.

You got a link to this, like a published article or something? Because Ati has had less of a performance hit with AA ever since the r300, and the r5xx only further decreased the hit. This is true in most if not all games, not just FEAR.

I was using the Catalyst 6.1s, & i just switch to the 6.2s.

X1800XT 690/800 @ 1600x1200 4x AA 8x AF everything maxed screenie

Min. fps = 23
Ave. fps = 44
Max fps = 94

My old X1800XT just pwned the 7800GTX 512 MB

Okay, okay, i know it's just one game, but damn...what an improvement

Nice results on a sick card Rollo!

Especially encouraging HDR results with Far Cry (I played through FC with HDR on my 7800GT and it was gorgeous, albeit with much tweaking to the default HDR values which are overblown and just plain goofy at times).

Too bad that card is way too expensive...

Lol! Well I seem to remember Rollo going on and on about how well the GTX512 matched (or even beat) the X1900XTX cards.

Apparently you care enough about how much faster the X1900 is (in 3dMark06 with 6.2 cats) vs the GTX 512 that you just had to blast me for making a post about my score......
