Interesting article about Hollywood's push to free Polanksi on what studio head Harvey Weinstein described as "a so called crime". It talks about the support for Polanksi and the backlash and criticism of supporters, especially following a Salon column entitled Reminder: Roman Polanksi raped a child which details the "so called crime".

Personally I think the guy needs to rot in jail, 30 years in Paris is hardly a punishment. Imagine if your daughter was drugged and raped, and then the rapist had an outpouring of support and the rape was washed over as just an incident. We breed these people though. Ignorant fvcks overloaded with money and fame who think their artistic prestige is the free pass to do anything, and we yell hoorah and give them more money.
