It was a great concept but the actual implementation left a lot to be desired. But fear not! Fans rebuilt the game almost from the ground up (we couldn't rewrite the AI though) and made it into the most addictive single player campaign game I've ever played. Check out Rome Total Realism. It's as historically accurate as you're going to find on the internet and even better looking than the original with 200 new units, massively expanded map and a classical soundtrack.

Guys, don't wait until they post prices! I just started working there (as a side job) and a LOT of game boxes have 1 price but it scans a LOT lower.
I just purchased a few games that were labeled as $34 for $3 and $14 for $2., Faces of War and another one.
