I see your point, but the OP is trying to generalize this to "Israel would be in charge of my Middle East foreign policy" i.e. the title of this thread. That is quite a reach given the quoted language.
Garbage in, garbage out wrt Romney. He refers to Israel as an "Ally" twice in the same quote, when they're not. Nato members are allies, for example. He also offers that we should stand behind them because they are allies, and that we should seek their "guidance", as if such would actually benefit us, as if we need their "guidance".
The slurpage wrt AIPAC and the rest of the Israeli lobby is obvious and demeaning for any presidential candidate.
