Basically, I prefer to judge the whole man and not just a sliver of one.

There is a non-zero probability that he isn't throwing racist dog-whistles to the trumpers he hopes vote for him. But I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

I've heard the phrase before and I also remember Kelly and the "an empty barrel" nonsense. At some point common sense should kick in and people realize that not everything that is stupid is racist, and no I don't defend "blatantly racist comments".

How do you know a racist? When the sun has just set and there's a black man in a crowd then someone says "it's getting dark outside".

Reserve ire for things we know are racist, not just what we hope are.
