Didn't he win some straw poll before the 08 elections too? So much for Trump's statement about electability.

He won last year if I recall correctly.
I really like Ron Paul. I agree with him on a lot of things, he talks a lot of sense about things and I respect him for being a champion of the constitution and also for bringing up and questioning of the federal reserve.
The American people will never go for him though unfortunately.

It only proves the enthusiasm of his supporters. The last polling we did had Paul ranked ~5th place among potential candidates.

Shades of 2007, dare I hope, Paul Bots coming out of the woodwork to say ole Rand Paul is a shoe in for the 2012 general election Presidency. Its all happening at the zoo, I do believe it, I do believe its true, Orangutans are skeptical about changes in their cages and monkeys are mighty fond of rum.

Its all a happening at the cpac zoo.

This conference was stacked with Ron Paul supporters thats why Trump said what he did.

I also suspect that is why Palin did not even bother to go along with the fact she is laying low for a while due to Bristol's 2nd unwed pregnancy and her target debacle with Giffords.

She will be back.

I agree with your last sentence.

However, he's not really the champion of the Constitution. Maybe the Bill of Rights, but not the Constitution. He's an Antifederalist (stands against taxation, standing military, central bank, corporatism, welfare, regulations, and stands for competing currencies, and states' rights/decentralism), not a proponent of majority will and special interests which the Constitution is.

Why do we keep giving media attention to the CPAC loons again? Winning the CPAC straw poll is like winning the best of 31 flavors at the local Baskin Robins - it doesn't matter, and it will only make us fat if we partake too much in what they sell. I even voted for RP in the presidential primary and still do not see this as significant.

I've watched and read some of the going on's at CPAC, the guests. This is one weird crowd. No wheres near mainstream America either right, left or middle of the road. It's like picking up communications from some far off galaxy. The galaxy of the crazies. They poop on plates and eat out of the toilets. I don't think Obama has anything to worry about. Not unless the country suffers some massive lobotomy. The only lesson to learn from CPAC is how to screw up ones own political party chances...TOTALLY.

Lol yeah, like the GOP has a chance by running Romney AKA George Bush II...
I applaud them for at least not nominating the same old neo-cons.
