Roommate issues. Very bad.

Find someone to sublet your place on Craigslist, or just eat the rent and live elsewhere (gf's?) till the lease ends. Austin has a lot of strange folks, especially the colleged-aged. It sounds like your roommate is extremely lazy and spoiled, and you shouldn't have to put up with his ****** after trying to be civil about things.

I have a similar situation right now with my roommate, though not even close to being as crazy as this is. He is actually a chill guy and we're pretty close/will remain friends after I move out, but his living habits are just not something I want to deal with. It's pretty much just dishes, food, cleanliness, and drug use.

Lease ends in 9 weeks! Hooray for me!

I finally saw my roommate today. I was watching a movie with my girlfriend on my half of the living room when he got home. I have yet to talk to him though. I guess I need to grow a pair, suck it up, and break the ice.

So, I came into the apartment today, and my roommate wrote on the refrigerator, "S owes $XXX.XX," for rent, utilities, et al. I go to my room, get my checkbook, cut him a check, and ... dun dun dun! Go into his room and hand it to him, and thank him for taking care of it.

After that, he apparently forgot that he was ever mad at me and started making up for lost time. We didn't talk for 3 weeks, so he saved up a massive amount of questions and stories. I don't understand!
