To those who answered "yes it is a big sacrafice to ask your GF to leave" please give me a freaking good reason why. He's not here. She hates us, we hate her. She has her own dorm room that's 5 minutes away. They never go over there.

this is a common problem in living with roommates. the best thing to do is talk to your roommate about it. you should have done that (set rules) before moving in but even now is not too late.

as you already know, you should be logging most of your time in the library / lab / study carrel / discussion group / project team.

I had a similar thing with my roommate a few months ago... his girlfriend basically moved in with us (and she didn't work and had no social life outside of my roommate -- who had no social life outside of her -- so they were basically in the apartment 24/7). she'd basically camp out in our living room and act super rude to my friends when they came over, since we drank and smoked... she's some kind of super straight edge or something. not to mention her total refusal to help out around the apartment or even clean up after herself.

I eventually just had to tell my roommate I wanted her around less often or I wanted them both to gtfo.

if he lived in his own place then he could do whatever he wanted and if he felt they are close enough and trusted her enough to let her stay after he leaves that is up to him.
but when he shares a place with 2 other people that have nothing to do with her, or even dislike her, then yes she should leave it is NOT her home and technically it is not his either cuz he shares it. she should leave when he does.

I've had several roommates and we always had only 1 rule prior to moving in. No extra roommates who aren't paying rent.

There's a lot of leeway for a girl to be over without her causing a problem. But when she's in the common area every day and when she's there when he's not.... she just might be a roommate. It's bad enough even if she's likable, but if she isn't....
