Fun Fact: While the rest of the media is calling the tweet racist, Fox is calling it "Racially charged". What do you want to bet she angles this as the "deep state" rising to suppress her free speech? Could get her show picked up on Fox where ratings will skyrocket even higher.

Comedians can say anything they want, as surely as anyone else. It is not like the state is imprisoning her for her speech. But as someone being paid by a company to produce a product, is it not that private business' right to terminate said employee for any reason they want?

I was in the car when this broke. CNN and MSNBC called it out immediately, racist and Islamophobic. Fox ignored for 10-15 min. Started with deplorable, crossed the line and over the top. It took them another 30 minutes to move towards racially tinged to outright racist. I still have not heard Islamophobic from them.

I think this is just another part of why conservatives of the current era feel so "victimized" by the world around them.

I also think there is this collective delusion that with their tendency to isolate within themselves and reject all manor of learned, critical thought, they simply don't understand that the absolute minority world views that they hold are as unfounded and unpopular as they truly are. This is thoroughly confusing to them, so they lash out, predictably, which is what you do when challenged about core beliefs and you don't have the mental capacity to examine your life decisions in a rational way.

I liked the first two episodes. Forgot to watch after that. I find it difficult to watch sitcoms these days. Not that anything has changed with them--but maybe that's the problem. The format is rather grating to me. I think I'm done with it.

That's the way I feel about almost all broadcast network programming, but especially sitcoms. Sometimes you wonder if the same writers have been alive for the past 40 years.

At least some of the co-stars (well, I guess just Sarah Gilbert thus far that I know of) have spoken out almost immediately on the events. Wanda Sykes obviously bailed on the whole ordeal quicker than anyone. I'd love to hear the other stars (Goodman, Chalke, etc) take on the situation.

Sounds like another private organization is making a sensible business decision.

Humor can and should be offensive. Some of the best Mel Brooks and Monty Python movies simply could not be made today. However, being offensive for the sake of shock value is not comedy.
