Today

Outage Notice: The project is down for repairs. The SAN hiccup'd and we're rebuilding the fileserver. We're working as quickly as we can to get things back up and running.....

Rosetta@home is temporarily shut down for maintenance.

Looks like Seti and WCG are working just fine. That's the beauty of running more than one project on your computer.

No need to run another project unless it goes beyond another 2 days - I've got enough work until then.

I built a computer for my brother-in-law and wanted to "burn it in" with R@H and to help me reach my long sought after goal. So, SETI was substituted.

I was using my computer a few mins ago and it went out like a light bulb that just blew. I hit the power switch and nothing. Moved the power plug to another outlet, and still nothing. I was going to flip the power switch on the PS swith off and back on, but BURNED my hand on the metal of the PS. Then the smell hit me! OMG! Toasted electronics ala-oh-carp!

Changed PS and it is running fine now. BUT, had to take PS off of a dedicated cruncher (C2D). :Q It is like I am not suppose to hit 1,000,000 on Rosetta, course I know that is not true.

Sorry about that power supple, John. Lucky it didn't take something else down with it.

I believe most folks are out of Rosetta WUs at this point. I'm sure it will get started again but there is no way of knowing when. In the meantime, for those that have checked into the AT DC Forum to find out what's going on, I'd like to suggest adding one or two other BOINC projects.

When Rosetta starts working properly again, you can always DETACH from the added project(s) as you see fit.

I've went to Seti during the downtime but cant get a WU. Seti keeps reporting No Work available.

Any ideas on getting the suspend button to suspend projects? If I detach will I loose the rosetta wu's currently trying to upload? 8 just on this box!

Rosetta refuses to suspend, still trying to upload, and using cpu resources.

Not a happy crunching camper atm.

I've got 22 completed WUs (Rosetta) and I'm not going to mess with it. Can you just go to "TOOLS / Attach to Project" and get something else working?

I'm not promoting one project over another but JFYI I'm getting WUs from World Community Grid and Einstein. I'm sure there are other projects up and running.

I run malariacontrol.net on some of my machines and are adding that to more of them for the outtage.

Unfortunately they're not taking on new accounts.

Wow, I really didn't expect the outage to last this long, so it seems I'm gonna have to re-activate another project. Gonna have to go find my passwords..

Hi Rich!

I had the same problem with SETI password. I had to have it emailed to me. Glad I have the email account still!

Same here, added SETI project and no WUs. I'm sure it is because Rosetta is down and so many are looking elsewhere. I don't backlog WU's like I did with SETIclassic where I had over 10 days worth. I can't even remember the name of the program I use for years to manage my cache. Let's see there was SETISpy and uh, em, aarrgghh...don't get old if you can help it!

Yeah, I had SetiQ SetiDriver & SetiSpy running back in the good old days.
We all could share WU's back then.

Yep - why I remember the days when... Ah you young-uns just don't know how good you got it... Why, we had to go out & chop up our own WU's if'n we wanted to keep warm by the CPU!!

Not much I can add over what the website says. Apparently it's taking about 36 hours to recover each partition due to the sheer volume of data. They had a couple more to do as of Thursday so assuming they aren't waiting on hardware from the vendor I'd hope to see it back any time.

Yep, those were the ones! I ran SetiQueue for years on dialup pushing out over 60 WU a day.
