video sez cherry brown, description sez cherry red, in the picture is a clicky blue switch... great confusion there newegg.

edit: looks exactly like the overclockers.net ducky that i own except with less buttons. wouldn't mind paying 80 if its the cherry brown, but for anything else i would recommend just get a Dell AT101W for half the cost at the bay (using that at work, it has great feel though a bit louder than the brown).

The Dell AT101W is really nice. I believe they use ALPS switches, which are decent. I have a black AT-101W I absolutely love. You can often pick those up for very cheap on e-bay, the only problem may be that they are old and may have been used for a long time already.

the problem with mechanical kbs is that they seem to all be made to appear very generic and boring and then touting a 100 bill + asking price, I mean they even target this for gamers, but those keys arent even backlit? no programmable buttons? no media keys?

Don't mix gamers up with teenagers. I am a gamer and have no desire for gaudy/flashy crap anywhere near my desk.

This, Although I do have a mouse that can glow red (Razer Naga Molten) But thats excused by having a extra 12 buttons for my thumb (and the lights are usualy off)

Keyboard came today. Keys have a VERY light touch, probably too light for me, but I may just have to adjust.

This thing is solid. You could use it to bludgeon someone. I may pick one up with the MX blacks because they have a stiffer action.

Heh, I thought the same thing about my abs M1. I think it is because of the way these things are built. each key has its own mechanism, and all keys are soldered onto one large PCB.

its absolutely worth it if you like the feel.

i am not someone who cares for membrane vs mechanical (theres a lot of responsive membrand keyboards, and some that are very not) but i feel the same way with ms natural keyboards vs normal ones.

if you prefer it its absolutely worth it. but if you don't then its not. i remember typing on mechanical keyboards in the early 90s and 80s and it is abit more stiff, but some people do like the feedback. you really have to try it first before buying though, no way to explain it on a message board.

its the same with laptops with say a thinkpad or a chiclet key laptop . i think really if you type a lot you will care one way or the other.

I bought this keyboard for my wife last year. She doesn't like it because the keys are loud (didn't want to disturb coworkers) but I love using it at home. The keyboard is built like a tank and provides great tactical feedback.
