Biggest difference seems to be that one is modular and the other is not. (The gold versus platinum thing is minor.)

There's not really any need to pay for a $140-160 power supply... Newegg has a 750W PC Power & Cooling unit for $70 AR AP. 80+ Silver, very close to 80+ Gold. 7-year warranty.

What sort of PC is this for - are you sure you need that much power?

On a pure brand basis, I'd feel much more comfortable with Seasonic. I've got experience with Seasonic and, unless something's changed as of late, they're good quality. I can't say the same for some of the stuff I've seen from Rosewill but, to be fair, that was more observation and perhaps they've changed or their PSUs are rebadges of a better quality manufacturer.

All this said, I'd echo the above comment that that budget for a PSU is probably not neccesary.

Anything over 80+ Bronze is not a good value. Were talking a few percentage points difference in Efficieny for much higher premiums.

That said, I have a gold rated PSU that I traded for.

I think either would be good, I'd prefer the Seasonic, but I'd also want modular cables.

Ever look into the XFX 750's? (XXX for modular, core for not)

Another surprising, but cheap solution - The OCZ ZT 750w. Its 80+ Bronze, Full Modular, Reliable and cheap.

FYI newegg has a 15% discount on Seasonic Power Supplies.

Code: EMCNCHN24

Edit: Opps...just noticed you already has the 15% in your post.

This shouldn't even be a question. Seasonic is the absolute best name in power supplies, and Rosewill is generic. Not in a million years would I pay anywhere near the same amount for a Rosewill.

Running x560 and x650 Seasonic in my machines. Fully modular and quiet. Only use the connectors you need. Check out Anand's reviews or JohnnyGuru's reviews. Provide more power more efficiently than a lot of other supposedly higher rated PSU's.

Best I have ever used and I don't see the need to replace them anytime soon.

I just bought a Rosewil 450 Platinum Power unit. Don't even know its on, and its supplying lots of efficient power. It isn't modular, but it suites my needs. I mean its quiet, it provides enough power I don't know what else you could want (well not to blow up), but time will tell.

I have no qualms with Sesonic either, I replaced my seasonic with this one so I will see if it makes any real difference.

Rosewill is Newegg's house brand, covers the PSU with a 5 year warranty (unless you think Newegg will go out of business) and the OEM is likely Super Flower.

I would have no problem using that PSU.

However, I probably wouldn't pay that much for ANY power supply.

Oh, I know all about Rosewill - I'm RMA'ing one of their wireless routers right now, and the customer service line is basically just an extension of Newegg support. It's not that I don't think they have some ok products (wirelss products excepted), but I'd still never pay as much for a Rosewill as I would for a Seasonic of the same capacity.
