I agree, I don't think it was the train wreck people make it out to be. There were some really good ideas in it. I liked the merchants being at every save point, and the level up process was really enjoyable (Crystarium), plus I got really involved with the story and the ending made me a little emotional....which surprised me, I never do that with video games. In the end they did a great job building the characters and showing the effects the story had on each of them and the group as a whole. Just experiencing the ending was enough to make walking down long hallways for hours worth it imho.
NOW THATS whaty I want to hear. I do find the story enngaging. Hope is growing on me.
Snow. UGH. I cant stand him now LOL. I so enjoy the team of Light, Fang and Hope. Its a death dealing machine.
I agree with the above about "Uber powered".
What I like about this game is it seems hard to "Nerf" your toon. I am sure my "build" would be the butt of many jokes and scoffs (as is required by the internet it seems) but I am doing ok. Have I died? SURE. but I see where I screwed up. Try and work on tactics from those deaths and change things up.
I ACTUALLY think the game tried to give me a hint. On one of the bosses, after I died for the third time when I hit retry, it brought me to the menu screen.
It was like the game was saying "Dude, ainnt gonna work with these set-ups...THINK." Hehehehehehe My son says I musta hit "Y" by accident.
SPOILER (And I dont know how to do the blackout stuff) So look away NOW.
I almost freaked when Sazh (Spelling) appears to have offed himself. I knew he wouldn't/couldn't killl Vanile at that point. BUT HIMSELF!!!! WOW.
I say appears becuase not sure if I am buying/believing it.
Although the coffin cutscene was pretty clear.
