I'm a Final Fantasy fanboy through and through, and even I thought this game was absolutely terrible, and not just for a FF game...it was just pure terrible and doubly terrible for having the FF name associated with it.

I'm not a fanboy but I do love the series as a whole. FF13 was a travesty of a game in both gameplay and story.

I'm not a fanboy (loved 4, 6, 7, and parts of 10) and I enjoyed 13 :|

It wasn't fantastic, but I don't regret getting it.

I agree, I don't think it was the train wreck people make it out to be. There were some really good ideas in it. I liked the merchants being at every save point, and the level up process was really enjoyable (Crystarium), plus I got really involved with the story and the ending made me a little emotional....which surprised me, I never do that with video games. In the end they did a great job building the characters and showing the effects the story had on each of them and the group as a whole. Just experiencing the ending was enough to make walking down long hallways for hours worth it imho.

NOW THATS whaty I want to hear. I do find the story enngaging. Hope is growing on me.
Snow. UGH. I cant stand him now LOL. I so enjoy the team of Light, Fang and Hope. Its a death dealing machine.

I agree with the above about "Uber powered".
What I like about this game is it seems hard to "Nerf" your toon. I am sure my "build" would be the butt of many jokes and scoffs (as is required by the internet it seems) but I am doing ok. Have I died? SURE. but I see where I screwed up. Try and work on tactics from those deaths and change things up.
I ACTUALLY think the game tried to give me a hint. On one of the bosses, after I died for the third time when I hit retry, it brought me to the menu screen.
It was like the game was saying "Dude, ainnt gonna work with these set-ups...THINK." Hehehehehehe My son says I musta hit "Y" by accident.

SPOILER (And I dont know how to do the blackout stuff) So look away NOW.

I almost freaked when Sazh (Spelling) appears to have offed himself. I knew he wouldn't/couldn't killl Vanile at that point. BUT HIMSELF!!!! WOW.
I say appears becuase not sure if I am buying/believing it.
Although the coffin cutscene was pretty clear.

You can mark spoilers by putting
tags around the text you want to block out. Works like bolding or quoting.

I thought that the game was okay overall. An RPG on rails is (to me) a contradiction in terms, but that was my worst complaint about the game. Well, maybe sniveling Hope and La-La-Land Vanille were worse.

After going back to playing a "traditional" RPG (Skies of Arcadia Legends) with turn-based combat, I realize that FFXIII's paradigm real-time combat system is much more exciting. I kind of miss it.

And while I don't have a lot of experience with PS3 RPG's, I was blown away by the graphics and artwork of FFXIII. I absolutely love the amazing environments and attention to detail.

SPOILER (And I dont know how to do the blackout stuff) So look away NOW.

When you hit "Reply" or "Quote", just above the box where you can type text is a row of buttons for
Bold, Italics, Underline...SPOILER

The Spoiler tag is at the end of the line on the right, and looks like "SP".

Hope is a little bitch

SE is just publishing Deus Ex, it's being developed by Eidos, which SE owns I believe, but they stay out of their way it seems.

Well, had an intersting event last night.
As a First timer, I must say I am enjoying 13. YES. On rails. TUNNEL WALKING.
Yeah yeah. I get that. But the toons are growing on me. NOT like ME1. But they are growing on me. Experimenting with the paridigms is pretty fun. I DONT like with hope and Fang that I cant have them
both on comando...
Alpha Chicks or NOT....BUT OK... I can live with that.
My event. Came home from bowling. about 11. Pour myself a glass of wine and boot up FF13. Next thing I know. Its 3:10 AM. I got to the point where I can pick my team I'd guess around 12:30.
SUPER. Now I get to screw things up :hmm:. Just when I said I like this game because it seems hard to "Nerf" your toon.
I rested easy in the comfort that the team given to me, is designed to BEAT whjat lays before me. So....... I have choices.
Super.
All in all a VERY enjoyable game.
