router setting questions

here's my current setup:

actiontec router (bridge mode) -> linksys (dd wrt firmware) -> netgear switch -> slingbox

my old setup:
actiontec -> netgear switch -> slingbox


my slingbox was working... now it's not. It has to be a router setting. in my router config I have:

local IP: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 0.0.0.0

question 1) should the gateway be 0.0.0.0?

the starting IP address for devices on my network start from IP addres: 192.168.0.100

question 2) does it make a difference what my local IP is?

Gateway should be 192.168.0.1 in your case. That should be the IP of the DD-WRT Router. then 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.254 can be given to computers.
As long as your local IP is in your range IE 2-254 it doesn't matter.

the IP of the router is actually 0.2 not 0.1. should I change it so that it's 0.1? apparently it does work but will I run into problems in the future? or is it simply just a number and I could renumber it to anything I like, such as 123.456.789.1?

I would make the IP 0.1 as long as something else isnt 0.1 make sure that your router is getting a external ip from the bridged modem.
I'm taking it that your looking at the DHCP settings of the router. So in this case i would set the router to 192.168.0.1 subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 192.168.0.1
and whatever DNS servers you use. There most likely handed out by your provider.

If you mean in the router config for WAN and you get it via dynamic, then YES!.
If you are talking about any device hooked to your LAN, then NO!.
0.0.0.0 in your WAN config means it gets the gateway from your ISP when it gets a dynamic IP.
