router stops working randomly

hey guys,

every now and then (soemtime happens 3 times in an hour, sometimes not for weeks) my router "disconnects". i put it in quotes because sometimes just the internet stops working...and i can't access the admin through internet explorer. no sites work, no admin works. but windows file sharing DOES work (both comps are connected to this router) The router is a network everywhere wireless router (both comps are wired to the router...and both stop working at the same time so nothing is worng with cables.)

The connection to the router seems to still be active in both cases...in windows, the icon in the tray still shows to be connected. I dont know why it's doing this, so i was wondering if you guys could help . I was thinking it was overheating or soemthing..but it works everytime aslong as i disconnect and reconnect the powercord. After the routr does its startup thing, the net is backto working fine.

Any ideas? anyone experience similar problems?

edit: i don't think it's the internet because the router admin stops working and soemtime i still can access shares (maybe windows caches them..i havent trasferred files when this happens..i will next time)


and btw: it just happened twice while i was posting lol

I used to have a similar problem with a DSL Modem going into a router - not the same model though. The only solution I could find was to buy an all-in-one DSL Modem/Router.

Post what happens when you try and copy files over the shares next time, and also an ipconfig /all may help (along with what it normally displays)
