Hello,

I just bought a 2006 honda accord coupe. I don't have any of the prior vehicles history but the engine is almost immaculate and car has been taken care of very well. This weekend I

1. Changed the oil
2. Changed the air filter, cabin filter.
3. Changed spark plugs
4. Changed battery

Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Change the diff oils for sure. Make a check on all your fluid levels.

Might also be good to get under it and visually inspect high-wear areas like the CV boots and make sure everything that needs to be greased is.

Rotate, Balance, Align? Yeah, you'd have to pay for it, but it can save you some headache.

Edit: oh yeah, tire pressure and tread, if you haven't checked 'em already. Duh.

I'm assuming the oil change included a new oil filter?

Check the brakes all around: make sure the calipers are sliding properly on their sliders and the pads move freely as well.

Rust proofing woulnd't be a bad idea if it hasn't been done before.

No need to replace the plugs or battery. Waste of money right there unless the battery is bad. The plugs are good for 100k+ miles.

I would do oil + filter. Cabin air filter. Trnasmission fluid. Flush brake and coolants.

Also, expect to replace the timing belt around 80K to 100K miles. It is a normal wear item and if not replaced before it fails, you can cause substantial motor damage as most of the Honda line is an interference fit motor. Meaning the pistons will hit the valves, if the belt goes when the motor is running. There is no diff fluid per se in a front wheel drive car, as it gets it lube from the transmission oil.

diff oils in a Honda Accord coupe?

...yes. At 60k, you should be changing the diff oil in any vehicle. Hell, you should probably be doing it at 30k.

Edit to add:

The diffs may well be contiguous with the rest of the tranny. I'm not terribly familiar with the design of modern accords. My last accord was a 92, and since then I've been driving two Toyotas.

The point is: Any and all gear oils could use a change. The only exception I would make is if you have a newfangled "sealed" automatic tranny that's "maitenance free".

Trans fluid, if it's an auto. On some auto transmissions (like in my car), there's a separate chamber for the diff, and it gets gear oil. I know that a lot of manual transmissions use gear oil for everything, and there isn't a separate diff (fwd, of course, rwd will have a separate diff except for isolated cases like the porsche 944 and corvette which have an integrated rear diff / transaxle).
