If he wins the nom the GOP will of course support him again.

Yes, the way the law works, he couldn't get on the ballot as an independent. But write-in votes for him would still count. See:

And true, if old Roy is the republican candidate you can bet Trump will come up with some reasoning to endorse Moore.
I can't understand why Trump hasn't placed Moore into some Trump administration cabinet position by now?
Moore meets all the qualifications. He thrives at the bottom of the barrel, he's ripe for the scraping, he has no morals, he likes molesting women, and Moore hates everything that Donald Trump hates. They're like twins.
Heck.... Trump should ditch Mike Pence and have Roy Moore on the ticket as his 2020 vp.
Just imagine the horrors that would create.
House democrats would hit the brakes on the very thought of impeaching Trump.
Trump could have a another four years of not one democrat saying not one discouraging word against Donald.
Using Moore Trump could have the democrats by the balls, not that he doesn't already....

There are many in AL that think he's done a great job and are proud that they are finally represented by a decent person in DC for once in their lifetimes. However, don't underestimate the power of straight-ticket voting here. It likely won't matter how Senator Jones has performed in DC, so long as there is a D next to his name. Just look at the schellacking the democrats took in 2018 down here despite record turnout (Both in terms of democratic votes and overall votes) and the strongest slate of Democratic candidates in years.

If he wins then yet another creepy R gets in office. Yes they are a pain in the ass but they do more harm to the R brand than good.
If he loses he’ll water down the R votes allowing a D again.
