I am having a bit of an issue with sleep mode on my system, it doesn't happen all the time but when I try to resume my computer from sleep mode, I get the message "RPC Server is Unavailable" and I can't log back into windows nor even switch users or anything; I have to reboot the computer which is frustrating if I had open documents from before.

The system specs are in my sig and I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. This is a pretty new clean install from a week or two ago. I noticed it first happening after installing the F40 SSD (used purely for OS and Apps) but the drive seems ok from checking SMART in windows and has not been giving me any issues. Anyone knows what is going on? Thanks in advance.

Is your PC joined to a Domain? Is it using shared printers or mapped drives from another PC or server?

Thanks for the reply RebateMonger; no my computer is not joined to any domains nor using mapped drives from any other computers nor servers. It is also not using shared printers; my printer is connected directly to the machine via USB.

Thanks again for the reply RebateMonger,

I ran the powercfg -ENERGY in the command line and it generated a file but it is a bit inconclusive on what is causing the issue. I couldn't paste the output as the forum said I included 11 images in the message lol so I have uploaded it to megaupload.

So far the only differences I've made to my computer from before I had no issues with sleep would be the F40 SSD and the P128 SSD, the newest Intel rapidstorage driver so I can have TRIM enabled on the SSDs while using the ICH10R in RAID mode, changed the dual 500GB .12's array from RAID 0 to RAID 1, and I guess new NVIDIA drivers. Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

Unfortunately, I have NO idea what is causing your sleep problem. Mostly trying to help rule out some common issues. Since you sometimes can't get back into your PC, it's tough to know what services (besides RPC) are being affected. Often, it's the "Server" service that isn't running, which, in turn, keeps the RPC service from running. But I don't know how the hard drive (or SSD) or RAID controller would affect this.

Hopefully somebody will drop by with some other ideas.
