I've always been a fan of RPG games. I'd like to see other people's collections of RPG games. Pictures would be nice =D. If not just list them. And if you'd like make some recommendations of which to play =D.

(PC):
Entire Baldurs Gate series + all expansion packs
Entire IceWind Dale Series + all expansion packs (have not played yet)
PlaneScape: Torment (one of the best RPGs ever made)
Entire NeverWinter Nights Series + all expansion packs
Star Wars KotoR 1
Deus Ex 1 (hybrid FPS / RPG)
Elder Scrolls III and IV (Morrowind / Oblivion) (former hybrid FPS / RPG, later is a FPS with stats )
Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines ( hybrid FPS / RPG)
Fable (Action game with stats, but some consider it an RPG, never beat it, got bored and quit about 2/3 of the way through it)

(XBOX):
Jade Empire (Bought it for very cheap used, have not played yet, probably never well, as I have retired my XBOX 1 and I do not plan on buying a 360 )

I guess I am somewhat of a Bioware / Black Isle Studios fanboy

Future RPGs (plan on buying / playing once I finish current games and get some time or have not been released yet, I have never played the following):
Dragon Age (PC, game I am most excited about)
Mass Effect (PC)
The Witcher (PC)
Stalker Series (PC)
BioShock (FPS / RPG Hybrid, prefer a PS3 version with keyboard / mouse support, but that is unlikely. I will buy the PC version if the PS3 version never materializes and the SecuROM is toned back a bit, otherwise I am skipping it)
System Shock 2 (FPS / RPG Hybrid)
Arcanum (PC)
Final Fantasy VI and VII (Playstation via PS3, not sure if the PC versions still work on modern PC, IIRC FFVII on the PC was a GLIDE game)
Ultima Age of Enlightenment trilogy (IV - VI, iirc, PC)
Fallout 1 and 2 (PC)
Fallout 3 (PC if it turns out to have a modding community and PS3 lacks keyboard / mouse support, otherwise PS3. I will skip it if it is like Oblivion)

My RPG collection dates back to 1980, back when the most popular PC was an Apple II (or II+).

Ah, the Golden Sun series. Those were a fantastic pair of games. It's almost a crime that there's been no sequel so far. Rumor has it that Cambridge is working on a Wii sequel, though.

I'm wishing I had bought FF7 back when it was cheap. Why is it that S-E can keep making FF8, but not FF7?

Also, let's keep the lists to what you own, kids, not what you downloaded or wanted to own or wished you owned.

Vandal Hearts is probably one of my top games of all time...incredibly underrated and very addicting strategy RPG. Every PS1/2/3 owner should grab it.

That's all I could find or think of, there's probably more. The definition of what an RPG is is so nebulous that there's no real point in arguing whether a fringe game counts, as lots of games contain pseudo-RPG elements.

Of all of those, my favorite is still Destiny of an Emperor for the NES. Other that are among my favorites are Final Fantasy II (SNES), Shining Force II (Genesis), and Final Fantasy X (PS2).

Thanks for the tips!

I generally prefer computer RPG's but have had an itch for fun, simple console games lately.
Got a PS2 slimline and a copy of Grandia 3. Am looking forward to some old-school fun.
After that I think I'll try the Xenosaga games. I hear lots of good things about them.

Definitely agree with you on this one. DoaE still gets playtime on whatever NES emulator I feel like experimenting with on the moment. There's a translated ROM of DoaE 2 floating around, too.

Definitely agree with you on this one. DoaE still gets playtime on whatever NES emulator I feel like experimenting with on the moment. There's a translated ROM of DoaE 2 floating around, too.

I do own all the discs/cartridges for those games. At some point I'll get around to posting pictures (the OP asked for them, after all), but the room where my games are stored is a wreck, and the wife would kill me if I posted images of it on the internet.

At one point, I decided I wanted to collect all the RPG's for the PS2 (there's around 150). I've got a little over 50 left, of which I believe NISA is the Publisher I'm missing the most of. They hold there value better than a lot of games ($20+), though, so they typically get put on the back burner in terms of what gets bought for collecting purposes. For purposes of playing, I've got so many games on so many systems to play/beat that price becomes the main factor in getting new games, since I know I already have multiple good games to play. Eventually I'll get to the NISA games. I think there are 3-4 NISA games on the list already, though.

I've heard about the DoaE 2 translation, but I've never found the time to go looking for it, much less playing it.

As it stands, my list is out of date. Since I posted, I've picked up:
PS2:
Baroque
Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse
Shadow Hearts: From the New World
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Shining Force EXA

Xbox 360:
Blue Dragon
Elder Scrolls IV, The: Oblivion
Eternal Sonata
Mass Effect

I honestly haven't had a chance to play it yet. I've heard it is very good, which is at least partially shown by it's price up until a few of months ago, when it was going easily for $80+ and often over $100 (though I'm sure a lot of it was rarity, as well). They did a reprint run on it, as well as SMT:Nocturne, so they both started showing up used in GameStops, though with a $40 price tag (still a lot less than what they were going for).

only 2 I've ever played through

Star Control 2 (maybe not an rpg, whatever, it's awesome)
Chrono Trigger

I don't think those can be topped, so I think I'll be wasting my time playing anything else.

I've seriously considered Planescape Torment though

Aha, is that what happened? IIRC, something similar happened with Disgaea - sky high prices, but then the game had a reprint and they relatively cratered. Probably means I'll want to turn my attention to DDS and Nocturne sooner than later - that state of events never seems to last on the popular games...
