Err ,an increase in WU time isn't a good thing! typo? ,did you mean a nice speed increase with WU times dropping from 3hrs to 2:40?

A Q6600 crunching with 4 cores is much better than a C2D at a higher speed - at least if my math is correct. I'll have to do something about my computer parts ... :Q
Yes but I was hoping for at least 3GHz

Thanks for the stats Smoke, almost like old times again

CK
Interesting ,thanks ,might look into it as I can solder.

I'm not sure about ASSUME, if you insert HOPE instead then I can say "ditto".

Yes, that's what I meant. 2 hours 40 minutes instead of over 3 hours.

I should know better than to post before my morning coffee!

Yeah, that is what I hope, otherwise the Gauntlet may become a race without stats ...
I have read somewhere in the forum that the StatsMaster has to deal with RealLife too ...

panhead49 asked me via PM if I was going to post the daily stats like I did yesterday. I thought I'd post my reply to him here in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.

Hello Jim,

Until someone running the Gauntlet gets the stats up and running in a proper fashion I thought I'd try to pull some stats and post them for our benefit. Today there was a stats snafu caused in part by the way SETI shuts down their servers for some unknown period of time every Tuesday ... at least that's the talk on the street. When there are stats available I'll try to post them on a daily basis to the King's Gauntlet thread.

I've been checking all day but couldn't come up with any new stats for today's update.

I'll keep trying.

Greg

It's almost 1:00 AM and I'm a little sleepy so I'll see about things tomorrow morning.

/note to the night crew/

Don't forget to turn off the lights.

Good morning Gauntleteers! :sun:

No joy about the stats. See what my good friend, BlackBiker, has to say about it over on the S@N International Forum:

Yes, FilmFreak is the one responsible for the stats. Unfortunately he seems to be missing in action. As the script runs on his own servers there is nothing I or anyone else from the crew can do.
Just hope he shows up again....

FilmFreak and several other talented scripters can put out some fantastic stats, far better than anything I can do. If FF fails to materialize, I believe one of the other guys will step up to the plate.

Right now, I'm having to reinstall WinDoz on my 2nd fastest system. I hate the "pits".

Now who is having engine trouble!

I got my Vista install back online changed out the optimized client from 2.4 to 2.2B and now i dont have to reboot into Fedora 8 when im done gaming to crunch.

yeah, that would be a serious pain. Half the time I forget to change my settings to "run when computer is idle" while gaming. Fortunately, I have found that an e6750 at 3.5 can handle crunching AND gaming with aplomb

If you check the numbers you'll see that some of your numbers (Overclockers, BOINC Synergy) are off by a factor of 10.
Also I combined the numbers of Ireland and Paddys in Space because those two teams are combined in the Gauntlet. Please check here.
In other respects - the numbers match AFAICS, except that I forgot the team "Seti@Netherland" ... Corrected that in my original post ...

Here you can find some confirmation of my numbers ...

It looks like I put the comma in the wrong place after deleting the "." US vs Metric convention error on my part, I guess? Oops.

I've since reformatted the hard drive of the machine I was working on at the time and just finished a reinstall. So I won't be worrying about the stats for the next bye and bye.

I do have the machine in question crunching again ... that's the main thing.

They should do something for both the highest points team and also highest points per user. Would make it interesting. After a quick glance most teams average roughly 10k/user so far in the race.

we have fewer users than every team above and many of the teams below us, too. We might be small but we sure are efficient!

edit, well, uh one of the teams below us anyway...

Btw I've now got this quad from 2.6 upto 2.9GHz ,will go higher but i dont want to lose anymore time on crashing/stress testing ........what was that about not tinkering with the enigine during a race?

I am, frankly shocked at how well my mildly OC'ed E4500 is doing with SETI. I mean, this was a sub$500 box and it's so much faster than any of my other dual-core machine.
