Everyone should be using Crunch3r's 2.4V applications. They are faster than the ones at lunatics.at. Also, if you have more than one core, you should be using Crunch3r's 5.9.0 app, which sets affinity to speed things up even more. If you're running a 64-bit operating system, make sure to get the 64-bit versions, they are significantly faster.
Well, going against the excellent recommendation of Smoke of not "tear engine appart during the middle of a race", have been fooling-around with Crunch3r's optimized seti-applications.
All Windows, Crunch3r-v2.4-non-graphics-clients:
#1, Old Amd, 32-bit-SSE. Haven't got the exact same angle-range, but from close neightbours to 0.409xxx indicates 5%-10% increase.
#2. Opteron, 64-bit-SSE2. On AR = 0.392899, 25% increase.
Hmm, you indicated 15-20% increase in production, so this seems to be better than expected, doesn't it? ...
... Except, the times isn't a 25% increase in production. Instead it's a 25% increase in CPU-TIME.
Meaning, atleast on my Amd-computers, the official SETI@home-application is faster than the so-called "optimized" ones.
