RSS Server Software?

So Google Reader is going away...

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on RSS software I can stick on a server that I can host myself. I'm not looking for a random google search... hoping I can get some real suggestions on software that folks around here have used.

I actually really like Google Reader's web interface, so the closer I can get to this the better.

Kind of a DuckDuckGo search, but I've seen RSS mentioned for OwnCloud. It's not something I've used, but am interested in the tech. It's a way to take control of a lot of data that might be spread around different services.

I've been working on my own software, which makes a webpage similar to Sage. The difference being I can block ads with AdBlock.

Problem is it currently uses Firefox to parse the RSS, but I'd like it to work in Chrome. I think I need to incorporate Magpie RSS.

If I open-source this thing, I'll try to remember to let you know.

Owncloud does look pretty promising. Looks like they're in alpha and expecting their next release in a few months, could pretty slick though. I've never looked into owncloud much, but this might be worth it.

Magpie looks like it could be cool, but I've lost any drive to do any kind of web development. Definitely let us know if you do open source that Ken... I'm sure I'm not the only one here that would be interested.

Going through the installation right now. Looks like it might be just what I'm looking for. I'll give an update once I've got in configured.

Doesn't look too bad. Quite a bit of configuration options available to get it looking the way I want.

I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of documentation available. I'm having a hell of a time getting authentication to work... almost to the point where I'm ready to just institute a directory level Apache auth and be done with it. The wiki isn't very well laid out either, but there does seem to be a fairly active forum community. The update "daemon" also requires some hacking to make it an actual daemon.

With that said... Definitely worth a try if you like to tweak. I'm gonna give it a try for the next week and see if I can get more comfortable with it.

So far I'm enjoying tiny tiny rss. No real issues and the transition from Google Reader was pretty smooth. I found a free ttrss app for android that works well too.

I've never tried it myself, but Fever (feedafever.com) is another self-hosted RSS reader (single user only, $30).

Thats the one. I can't figure out how to add feeds on it, but its not that big a deal to me since I rarely add new ones.

I finally published Sage-Three in case you're interested. Be warned: I never used Google Reader, but I don't think it's at all similar. Each feed and all the stories in them are separate from all other feeds.
