T&L isnt meant to make general frame rates higher, its meant to allow high polygon games to be created.

Even tough Hardware might be an immature a$$ sometimes (and always ends a sentence with ! ) he actually does have a few good points. I mean no one can deny that 3dfx has been getting behind the last year or so, and they do miss a few key features that the other companys started to use a couple of generations ago.

3dfx has 1(2) products the v4500 and v5500 both based on old technology

ati has many products from mobile to (ultra not released yet)!
nvidia has many products from mobile to ultra

Who needs to comment this?


3dfx paid large sums for stb and gp.
stb was a *confirmed* huge mistake
gp is not clear now (we have to wait for "fear&quot

3dfx IS now the clear underdog with few/no money!

I'm a programmer/network admin, with a hardware business on the side. I wrote the software that many Virginia attorneys and many of the state agencies use to do legal research. Among people I work with routinely are the Va. Supreme Court, Court of Appeals judges, just a couple weeks ago I was at the Attorney Generals office. Let me know when I should stop... My software has been praised by the State Prosecutors and Public Defense attorneys, many of the City Prosecutors, Prisons, Circuit court judges, the list goes on.

I know a thing or two about programming and computers. I'm no electrical engineer, but neither are you. The difference is that I'm knowledgeable enough to know that using a different process to produce wafers does not ensure a better processor.

As long 3dfx uses 0,25 they are stuck
nvidia started with 0,22 went to 0,18 and will soon switch to 0,15
the mhz ramped up from 120 to 250+ with more features!
To tell it as simple I can 0,25 limits you in many ways!
