You've gotten to the point where you're seriously crapping all over threads and turning them into trash. No- I can only afford one. I noticed the retail price has significantly dropped... I'm hoping this means getting a Retail 5500 for around $250 Canadian. (~$160US)
This is blowing the bank though, and there won't be any new cards for a good long time.
I wish I had SOME sort of very rough ETA! One Quarter, two... next year? Ten years?

As for getting a 5500 or Rampage, you've got me in a tough spot there. I can't really say specifics without saying stuff I can't talk about. So that said, you'll just have to make a choice yourself. Give yourself a guess as to when Rampage will come out and decide based on that. I suggest reading some of the stuff 3dfx has said lately, about the focus and where we plan on going. That might offer you some help in guessing.

That aside though, you will like the 5500 a lot and if you chose to go with it you won't be let down.

0.25 vs 0.18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the die size, and I guess a Chip with 0.18 produces less heat than a 0.25 Chip. Well, it's not the only thing, but one of the advantages. But what's the problem when there's no big heat problem???? And this I know for sure, it doesn't make the chip faster! You can _make_ faster chips with 0.18, but a Chip with 0.18 is not automatically faster.

Hardware, behave like a 31-year old, tolerant person, and not like a 14-year old geek. Sorry.
