Here is information about vbios loaded on the GTX 780 Ti.

What it reveals is:
- GTX 780 Ti use the latest stepping: GK110-B. It is most likely the same as the GK180 which Atlas will use. GK110-B is more efficient than GK110-A stepping, and can do overclocking better than the first stepping.

- Base clock is 876MHz and turbo clock is 928Mhz. GTX Titan have base clock of 837MHz while turbo clock is 876Mhz.

- Memory clock is indeed 7000MHz like shown in the GPU-Z screenshot in the first post in this thread.

- Boost clocks, GPU Boost 2.0 that overclocks the GPU as long as it is thermal headroom, can go all the way up to 1200MHz!

All that remains to know now is that if its really 2880 cores. If it is, it will be the fastest GPU by a good margin.

It's increasingly sounding like you're gonna have to buy some new video cards here next week, Adam. Like you, I didn't think this would happen due to the Titan overlap but much to my surprise it is - apparently it is 2880 cores, the 699$ with 3GB wouldn't make any sense otherwise IMHO.

Sell those Titans now. Unless you do CUDA work.

Given the new landscape at the top Nvidia has to unleash all they have to keep the dear crown. So, a fully enabled GK110 is reasonable to appear given that we already know it exists in professional cards. On the other hand NV knew for some good time what is Hawaii capable of. This 780Ti wasn't made overnight. 700$ price point also says a lot about what to expect.

Yeah, true. The performance crown between 290X and Titan at stock was fairly ambiguous, while the Titan won on all non performance metrics. I figured NV would be satisfied with that - after all, a lot of people buy NV for the software and features (such as physx, TXAA, gsync, etc) but it appears they highly value having a clear performance crown and that's what they're doing with the 780ti. It will be the definite halo GPU crown winner.

In any case, it's pretty exciting - i'm anxious to see how it performs and especially how aftermarket editions of the 780ti will perform. And to be fair - the 290X performed exceptionally well enough and prompted NV to do the 780 price cuts along with the holiday bundle - so while I think the 780 is a better "balanced" card by all metrics (not just stock performance), i'm glad AMD brought enough competition to bring some NV price cuts. Who can complain about that, you know?

All in all, exciting times for the GPU market.

You read that right! TITAN ULTRA is actually GeForce GTX 780 Ti. It packs 2880 CUDAs, 240 TMUs and 48 ROPs (ROPs are not mentioned though). NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti is clocked at 876 MHz for base and 928 MHz for boost. Card is equipped with 3GB GDDR5 memory running at 7 GHz. The GTX 780 Ti is using 384-bit interface.

Does it really matter? AIBs will just release a 6gb version for $50 to $100 more. The very top is really only for people who want bragging rights and the wealthy anyway. Another $50 to $100 is chicken feed to them.
