That's not really a fair comparison to use, since in order to hit 3200 you need to enable extended overclocking in afterburner. Not only that, but power shoots up to 180W and load temps rise to 70C. Most people wouldn't put up with that.
If a $200 card can OC to 3200MHz without nitrogen, while maintaining 180W and 70 degrees C, count me in. My 280's run 85C at 1200MHz for ~350W each. Plus if that performance is really above 1080 at that rate, that's a huge win - unfortunately, this is all speculation. If anandtech can OC a 480 to that performance level I am all in - anxiously waiting for reviews

Peasant premiumAMD could easily charge $1K for it...why would they sell it for $200?
That graph is hilarious. Now that would be disruptive!
Its not speculation, its entirely fake....
They willWell, Gibbo @ OCUK says they have plenty of stock. The quote was "Ample, I repeat AMPLE!". Later, when asked if he'd sell more than 1000 in a month he said. "In a month for sure, I am actually hoping to sell 500+ on day one!"
I think it still is too early to say if they will have adequate stock or not. That doesn't sound like limited stock because all these other players have snatched up everything. There's a reason AMD has waited until now to release these cards. In the past we likely would have seen them months ago with no stock and immature drivers. I think Lisa is running a different, tighter ship.

Custom we are pushing for so we might be able to list on 29th but doubtful on stock availability, but a week to go, so lets see.
That will determine if they have adequate supply of chips or not.Custom we are pushing for so we might be able to list on 29th but doubtful on stock availability, but a week to go, so lets see.
Sure about that. What if you wanted to slow early leaks from third parties? That isn't the correct context of what I wrote, but anyway, as you quoted

The most epic trolling ever seen...Has anyone seen this one yet:
Not even a bit suspicious...
Nope, not sure at all, I was speculating in this speculation thread.Sure about that. What if you wanted to slow early leaks from third parties?
If a third party card leaks and runs hot and draws a ton of power then Polaris will be perceived as trash. Look what happened with Hawaii. Amd released a half baked cooling solution, everyone burned the cards in reviews for it and then no one bought them even after third party cards that ran cool and drew less power came out.Nope, not sure at all, I was speculating in this speculation thread.
What kind of leaks would be left to spoil? The only thing the AIBs can do is play with the clock rates, custom PCBs, and what they use to cool.
Not sure why AMD would try to prevent their AIBs from showing off their custom coolers or even a custom PCB.
The thing about the NDA being lifted is, you want the best product out that can showcase the chipset, and if that is a AIB, then, good for them. If the AIB can do no better than the reference design, then, it tells you a few things about the polaris design.
