Sucks to be you.

No, sucks to be AMD. He'll just buy one of Nvidia's multiple options that supports HDMI 2.0.

AMD doesn't seem to have gotten the message that, as a minority player, they don't get to dictate to the market what it does and does not need.

No AA at all with the games with the highest frame rates and No AF?

0xAF? in 2015? is this for real?

Why the outrage.?.

Did you ever see their competitor provide the exact settings of their perfs claims..?.

In 2015.???..

What "market"? The 0.00001% that does 4k gaming on a TV?

Also, I said "sucks to be you" because gaming on a TV is atrocious. They aren't designed for it.

We use a TV for gaming at my place.
I've been using one for a while but it is not that great in fast moving games, not terrible but a monitor is much better. I'm sure the newer sets have improved but so have monitors. I don't think many people will game a 4K set but still if AMD doesn't support HDMI 2 it would an odd omission.

I utilize a 1080p projector for my gaming area, mainly because consoles are only 1080p. I do have a PC connected up to it for games like witcher 3 that run a lot faster on PC.

I will game at 4K in a triple projector setup so I need to figure out if FURY X2 or 980TI x2 will do it, looking at preliminary 980TI x2 stats, it will not do.

It's not my main gaming rig, but I was refuting another poster's ridiculous assertion that nobody is doing it. It's a big 1080P Samsung refreshing at 60Hz and it looks fine gaming.

How does your using a 1080p TV for gaming refute my statement that no one is using TVs for 4K 60HZ gaming?
Edit: Seems I didn't specific the resolution in my original post. My mistake.

Personally, I don't enjoy PC gaming on my TV because the input lag differential is north of 40ms versus a proper monitor...

I would rarely want to play my pc games on a TV and I don't plan on having that setup anytime soon. The 4k market isn't that big right now either way, especially for gaming. The standard seems to be 1080p most of the time.

Oh cry me a river.
1) TVs are not for gaming. They are terrible for gaming.
2) So since you're not gonna be using the TV for gaming, especially not 4K gaming, you're not gonna need the 60Hz at 4K, which is practically the only difference between HDMI 2.0 and HDMI
1.4.

Bonus: HDMI 2.0 does not allow for Freesync.

HDMI 2.0 is outdated and obsolete.
What? Why would I not use the 4k TV for 60 hz gaming big screen? Are you kidding me?

I'm at 80 inches right now (soon to be 110? Maybe?) and 8 feet from my screen at 1080p. Maybe I could down sample and use the fury x but it's a stupid compromise to make. I want a new 4k TV to tide me over til 4k projectors are out and there are tons of people on many forums using gtx cards specifically for hdmi 2.0. If you don't think this is a massive screw up you're hilarious. Even a big reason I didn't buy the 290x is no hdmi 2.0 like what? Tvs have it, receivers have it, a flagship card should have it it. It's unacceptable I don't know how you can possibly say it isn't.

Gtx 980ti is just going to be at stupid prices for the models I want the fury x is the only thing that will do what I want but it lacks a crucial feature. I just can't make myself give away 650 to a company who literally couldn't spent a couple pennies to add support for this. I would have paid an extra 100.... Whatever lol amd I just can't figure out how you continously mess up easy wins.

If you want a new 4k TV, buy one with DisplayPort. Easy-freaking-peasy.

At any rate, TVs are not made for gaming. The lantencies are huge, and generally not worth it.

How are they "giving up an easy win" when it literally doesn't matter to 99% of their customers? Most people who do 4K gaming do so on a monitor, most likely with DisplayPort.
The 1.4 HDMI works fine for the absolute vast majority of scenarios. It can even run 4K, just at a capped 30Hz, which is fine for movies and such.

Outrage? Umm........not even remotely.

As for competitors results

I typically don't pay much mind to any of nvidia's benchmarks. I don't know if they list the exact settings. I only pay attention to reviews and 3rd party results. And I look at many of them, never just one.

Regardless, I would find no AF really really bizarre no matter what. Who would play games with no AF?
I am not even sure if these results are from AMD.

This isn't outrage. Just something I find interesting.

Before you guys jump to conclusions, I am not saying Fiji is slower, faster, or the same speed as the 980ti and or the titanX.

Have you ever gamed on a TV? I used to move my computer to the 65" hdtv when wife was out of town...it was pretty cool.

The dream!! That doesn't sound like a "budget solution" though...

I'm telling you guys, d3 and ciV look great on your tv. No screen tearing or anything...

Cards are awesome(unless R300 rebrands) and someone(not you) are already trying to find a reason to call it flawed.

The criticism to me seems rather muted tbh. I don't know if the mods are laying down the ban hammer or what, but even the trolls are being quite circumspect in their criticisms these days to my eyes.

Besides which, fury isn't exactly without flaws. No hdmi 2.0. 4gb ram. 9 months late. It's looking to be a nice launch overall from AMD, and it's probably beaten expections of 90% of the community, but it is hardly earth-shatteringly good. I'd say more of "good enough to keep us from going out of business and possibly good enough to get Samsung to buy us".

Ok so you're telling us we should all sell our tvs and buy models with display port.

Please direct me to an 80 inch to 70 inch (bare minimum) display with display port.

Tvs aren't made for gaming? Ok.... I guess people with xbox, Ps, and wii don't game? This nonsense is ridiculous. Just give it up. It can't game at hdmi 2.0 and the display port TV options aren't even tvs they're 40 inches.

Some of us like pcs hooked up to big screens with amazing sound systems. It's not for you, and fiji isn't for these people who want hdmi 2.0. Why you don't get that I don't understand and your alternatives have all been extreme downgrades. No. No. No.

just curious, how many buys a tv for their pc? why not a monitor?

It's a gaming device that's all. Why you would limit it only to the desk is beyond me. I thought pc was all about flexibility but apparently they can only be used at a desk with display port monitors or else you aren't doing it right. Lol....

Why would I buy a ps4 and hook it up to my TV when I can get more and better looking games by buying a TV and hooking it up to my TV..... Its a no Brainer....
