Is that single slot design? It looks sexy not gonna lie.

edit: looks like two slots. Had to bump up my brightness to see anything.

Ugh.. 1 more freaking week.

These leaks are getting more and more fruitful. I'm going to bet by Friday, we have a decent leak of Fiji that we feel confident about.

LOL, that would be nice.
I think so. We're getting more and more leaks as we get closer to launch. My pyre speculation is a performance leak by Sunday. Then reveal on 16th and then reviews to show us just how useful that hbm is or isn't.

But I thing silveforce is trying to say that when you have hot room if you are living in hot climate or no proper airflow, the OC ability goes out of the windows from the get go. And like you RS have so many times pointed those intel graphs which prove that when silicon is running hot it is also using more power. Also affecting even more to the OC ability and making the whole system use more and the room hotter.

Second point, I have my computer under the office table on my left side where I sit and the table is placed against the wall from right side and from front. So there is only one way the air comes out first and its mostly just where I sit between me and the table. All the hot air comes straight to my face and the difference is pretty big when gaming and when not. I have 7970 OC to 1.1GHz and sometimes while gaming the hot air is really annoying. Any more than that in in my face would be really annoying all the time. While 40-50w is not much in total system power and not really much warming the room, but straight in your face it is starting to be a big deal. So I think that is also one of the things silverforce was trying to imply. The new PSU for every new GPU is starting to become really old excuse and it's hard to believe that all those 550$ 980 owners doesn't invest in other components of their systems like PSU. Besides mostly everybody any time someone is asking what PSU to buy is suggesting something good and efficient which doesn't take the whole system with it when it goes poof.

Great post, as with a lot of things YMMV and if 40-50W of GPU power usage actually results in that much heat being exhausted directly at you, I can see how it's a big deal. Also, for some people they feel more environmentally conscious if they are buying a part that they know uses less power and are willing to pay extra for that. I personally don't get that since there are plenty of other electronic devices or buying a more fuel efficient vehicle that can be used to target that desire but again YMMV.

I just think in the last 3 years the constant movement to perf/watt from users who overclock their CPUs and GPUs is becoming really hypocritical. If someone really cares about perf/watt, they aren't buying i5/i7 K series CPUs and game at 120-144Hz where the GPU uses even more power. It's like this idea of picking of choosing when perf/watt matters and when it doesn't is what leads to this debate. For example, if we go with the idea that YES, perf/watt matters, then I'll go with the idea that 60Hz gaming is more than good enough and those who are gaming at 120-144Hz are wasting electricity and are harming the environment -- and you know that would be a ludicrous argument. Also, if 40-50W power differences matters that much, how did a lot of these same people who are making such a big deal used GPUs in the past, especially Fermis and overclocked GTX460s!

If the Battlefront bundle rumor is true that's going to move some units.

For sure.

TBH, what other really exciting titles are planned for 2015? We had TW3, Batman and Battlefront. The first 2 were already covered in the NV bundle...

As an aside, anyone else think its ludicrous that sites have FO4 for pre-order already? LOL

I do overclock (only the CPU right now) and I do care about perf/w mostly because of cooling concerns. Two cards being equal, I would take the card that consumes less power (over one that will clock to the sky but use a ton of power) as it will likely be easier to cool. I'm not into extreme overclocking/suicide runs though. And in the mining days perf/w was extremely important.

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone knows if there will be a R7-260x Replacement card coming In 3xx flavor?I need a el-cheapo $100.00 card for the living room HTPC and dont want to spend more then that.Dont want anything more power hungry either as this will be powered on and running 24/7.

Perf/W can matter in every segment. For example one can overclock with no regard for power consumption or one can try to maintain at least a linear relationship between performance and power. I'm in the latter group. 10% more performance for 20-25% higher consumption is nonsense for me personally. Please don't think only in extremes people.

The rumor is "R7 360 2GB Bonaire $107".

Most likely the BonaireXT (7790/260/260X) since it supports TrueAudio. We'll find out for sure in a few more days...

why get a dedicated card for that? AMDs APUs would do fine

Do you even need a 260X for an HTPC?

A GDDR5 NV GT730 uses about 25 watts max.

Fiji, and the Fury line of cards which are based on it, introduce improvements across the board. Performance is obviously significantly improved. Fury X is faster than the R9 290X by a minimum of 54%. Which brings us to the second major improvement. Fury X achieves this performance improvement with a TDP that’s a meager 10W higher. Which makes Fury X 48% more power efficient than AMD’s previous single GPU flagship the R9 290X, which is quite remarkable.

Read more: http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-fury-x-specs-fiji/#ixzz3caffyWsd

Fiji pro has a lower tdp than 290x. Works for me. The performance difference between pro and X might be larger than that between the 290 and 290x unfortunately for the cheapos out there.

This is rumor/speculation, and not "confirmed", and you need to indicate this.

Am I wrong in thinking that the effective memory speed and bandwidth is way off on the Fury models?

What about the 640GB/s number that kept getting floated around for memory bandwidth?

I think the pro will still have amazing performance. Amds second place product has always been an amazing value.

Thanks to Russian, I didn't waste cash on the 7970 and picked up the 7950. Worked perfectly for me since I was too lazy to coin mine and the extra upgrade from the 7970 would never have come into play with the games I've played so far.

Hopefully air cooled fiji pro is strong enough to run the current games I want at 4k resolution or close to it for down sampling.

I think I may just get fury x, play all the games I plan to (none are coming out this year I'll never get to those games in time lol) then sell it in prep for 2016 cards. I should just wait for 2016 but my 7950 is getting old and I really want to see games like acunity on my big screen in super high fidelity quality.

Also of course curious to see how it handles crysis!

I'm still not 100% on these. Details here and there could be off just like with maxwell launch. My biggest suspicion is the 4096 for stream processors and memory interface being the same.

The bandwidth rumors have been 512GB/s recently. I noticed the change too. I think the memory frequency is also less.

hopefully AMD actually goes with a 3 fan HSF for air cooled Fiji instead of blower style

I hope AMD pulls this off and the top Fury part smashes Titan X. I am sitting without GPUs waiting to see how they do. It's either Fury X CF or classified 980ti SLI for me and I want new cards before the end of the month.

It's taken them forever to release these cards. After this much time this thing better be good. I just want to see benches already and fingers crossed it's the real deal with performance, and that the full reference waterblock cooling is easily removed and custom blocks can be made for the cards.

If these specs are to be believed, there does appear to be a little bigger gap in performance between XT and Pro, vs. what we have seen in the last 3-4 gens from AMD.

One of the nice things from Fiji will be be the complete lack of needing to OC memory (most likely) as the bandwidth is likely more than enough out of the box.

If (and this is a big if) AMD doesn't release an 8GB Fiji variant at launch, I do hope they announce it will or will not be coming. I certainly wouldn't want to buy a 4GB version and then have a better one release just a few months later...
