Fair enough.
I woke up the next morning, well rested, casually got breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, then returned to the store and waited outside for them to come out empty handed... as they passed by, looking dejected, we met eyes and they recognized me... I smiled quietly, holding my Premium (gotten elsewhere) in one arm and hot coffee in the other, and said, "I told you so. Sleep well?" The younger one (late teens?) started to cry.

LOL that's awesome.
But you have to admit, most people waiting in line probably don't browse computer forums/hot deals forums like you and I and thus have no idea about the quantity in stock information. So why would they trust you, some random guy off the street, who tells the 40th and beyond that they won't be getting one.
I know you did nothing but try to help them out, but honestly, if I were one of them, I wouldn't have believed you either.
However, if they were rude to you like those that cussed, then yes, they deserve wasting time like that.
My question though, how come Bestbuy didn't tell everyone after the last person who would get an Xbox that they would run out? I figured it would only be fair to those waiting in the far back of hte line to say "Hey, we have about 50 xboxes, and you guys are at least in the 60's...you sure you want to stay?"
