* Nikon D3 - All new DSLR body, full frame, 15 Megapixels. Nikon's new flagship camera will level the premium side of the DSLR playing field with Canon and Kodak Professional's full-frame offerings.

* Nikon F6 - All new 35mm film body based on the D3 Digital SLR. This time their top-end film camera will be be based on their top-end Digital SLR instead of vice-versa.

* Nikon D200 - 8.25 Megapixel camera officially will replace the D100. 5 FPS, 1/500th flash synch speed, equipped with Nikon's D1X-proven Multi-CAM1300 autofocus module 5 point AF sensor, 24 frame Jpeg buffer.

* Nikon D2HS - An improved D2H with an all new (different) 4.1 Megapixel sensor. Stunning high ISO quality up to ISO 3200 plus more performance enhancements.

* Nikon D2X - An 8.2 Megapixel version of the D2HS. Double the D2HS horizontal pixel count, much like the D1X sensor was set up compared to the D1/D1H. Aimed squarely at Canon's 1D MkII.

* Nikon D2H hardware upgrade - Much like Kodak Professional did with its original DCS Pro14n, Nikon will offer an opportunity (at a price) for existing D2H owners to upgrade their cameras to the improved D2HS sensor and performance features. Upgraded cameras will have a new badge added to the D2H logo to identify the upgrade.

* Another Nikon D2H Firmware upgrade. For those who don't want to do the D2HS hardware upgrade, another firmware tweak to improve the D2H.
* Nikon D70 - No changes. This camera is doing fantastic just as it is.

yea that one i dont see, because nikon has so much invested in the DX format lens, but if it happens it will be great

I can see the F6 - its about time their top of the line film cam, give it Multi-Cam 2000 AF that the D2H has and ittl and other goodies

The D2X is the one i want to see the most, D2H features but 2x the resolution

That's just really awesome.

I love it when companies support their products to the fullest possible extent.

I'm not surprised they fell behind the curve in Digital Cameras, because they aren't really an "electronics company". They ought to have enough money to start building fabs, though. There's money to be made selling those extra chips too!

Phototeknica (sp?) is coming up...and that's what all these companies are preparing for. Some over at DPreview still don't think Canon has let all their cats out of the bag. Time will tell.

Competition is good, but I am a Canon fanboi

I'm kinda doubtful that Nikon will release all of them. THAT many new products in such a short time??

one or two maybe, but not all of them.
D2X is about time.. But D3 and F6 - I don't think they really have that much resources to do all that at the same time.
But it'll be interesting to see.

Canon's 1Ds Mark 2 should be around 16Megapixels though. It doesn't make sense for Nikon to only go 15 Megs.

the difference between 15 and 16 mp isnt much even the diff between 6 and 8 is nothing, there is almost no difference between the 2 when it comes to correctly made prints

The Canon 20D looks sweet, as does the rumored Nikons. I have used and like Canon, and will not be tossing my glass to jump brands.

Still, I use my Canon EOS 7E with transparencies and love it.

When Canon makes a camera that is equivalent to the best of 35 mm slide films with as good or better than print film latitude then I'll get excited.

When they can match 4x5 camera quality, then I will give up film entirely, but not before.

I want the same quality in prints and transparencies with low cost too.

Oh yeah they are. I saw some pics takes by someone who stopped using the 8x10 format and went to digital. I wish I could find those images. They were incredible.

Sooner or later technology will get us to a much higher quality than what we get on 35mm film.

When it becomes affordable, I'm all over it

I have been looking to get a 4x5 for a while. Bought a house instead, so it's going to be a while.

You would be right to say that they are a pain in the behind. We aren't looking at frames per second, but how many minutes (or more) per shot.

That is an advantage in a way though. You have to think about what you are doing, what you want the photo to say, how your composition looks, the lighting, color, texture, all the elements that make a worthy photograph instead of a snapshot. It instills discipline and fosters the use of good technique.

I took a photo class once, and one assignment was to spend several hours shooting, but we could NOT take more than one photo per hour (we were allow to bracket the same shot though).

That was VERY useful. Sometimes digital is TOO easy if you understand. True you could take a thousand pics and get ten good one, but you haven't learned anything.

While all my money is currently in Canon Lenses...this is great news as Canon is bound to come out with some decent competing products.

I can't wait till I can get a good DSLR with 12+ MPs for around $1500. That is when I will jump.
