I am walking a fine line here. As long as i dont post benches OR specifacally confirm about the leaked benches im ok to post. I used the term similar. thats all. with that aside. I am getting a bulldozer.

Let me clarify. I have seen some of those same benchmark tests run. I wont confirm those leaked tests are accurate. I will say that it wont dissapoint MOST people. I am 46 years old and I would hate to look for a new job.

IF you are under NDA you just violated it again.

For starters not all NDA's are the same, so how do you know?

The ones in this industry, as they relate to pre-release hardware, they pretty much are standardized for legal reasons and efficiency.

Phynaz happens to be in the industry, and if purefun1965 is legit and not just some dude making up BS on the internet (it does happen, I heard about once or twice) then he most definitely is violating the terms of his employers NDA by making posts like this one:

the new chips we received:thumbsup: I looked at the leaked benches. they were similar to the first chips we tested. amd is back. for the life of me amd should release information. They can sell these like hotcakes.

There is a reason, it is not just by the strangest of luck, that there are hundreds of ES bulldozers out in the field right now for platform verification efforts and not a single other person who works on bulldozer in their job is here in the forums stating what purefun1965 is stating.

(they don't post because they know it violates their NDA...ergo either this guy really is violating NDA or is just making stuff up...I'm now voting for the latter because no one would actually be this daft on purpose)

Doesn't take a genius to figure out Phynaz won't be signing many AMD NDA's.

Ok so you think he made up all that story about his first impression (which was really great), then changed it when he saw some benchmarks (saying it won't beat SB), then realised that they had a B0 and early bios and apologised for his irrelevent posts?

I mean if he's making it up, he's really good. Also, none of you seemed to be bothered when he was saying all that, but you are now? Why is that I wonder.

Maybe because he claimed he almost lost his job for discussing it (which is entirely understandable) and then went on to discuss it more. That is where he lost me, as well as a few others by the looks of it.

It seems obvious that he's wanted to post some benchmarks and either got caught or realised that would have been too much and changed his mind. Personally, I think he's done the right thing by not posting benchmarks, but I do believe that he has seen BD performing.

Actually they all are pretty much the same.

They are pages and pages of legalese that say "You may not disclose any non-public information to anyone".

Just stating you have possession of a BD CPU is non-public information, therefore in violation of NDA.

Well, based on the complete and utter lack of information this close to launch, one can only assume BD is really great, or really terrible. I'd like to think it's going to give intel a real run for their money, and Id like to believe this guy really did get a hold of a BD to test it.

I think he has a ring of truth to his posts.

Give me my $89 dollar Dual core bulldozer with unlock able cores, and I would be a happy man. I hope we dont see super inflated prices on these things.

We will only see inflated prices if it ends up being faster then what intel has on the market.

If it sells out fast. New stock and back orders will be reaching for the sky with price gouging galore. ... more so in countries outside America... People in Australia will most likely be folking out $100 bux more for the same chip even though our Aussie dollar is worth 10c more then the US Dollar.

Intel may reduce prices to balance out the AMDvsINTEL performance to price ratio

At that point it may be a great time to buy Intel Chips, strangely enough

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that BD was only shipping parts with at least four core parts.

Ya, I think you're right.

Makes sense. They only have a small window to be competitive in terms of performance. I think the idea is that they will start out balls to the wall making 8-core parts to try and get as many high end parts as possible, and then crippling the rest as far as they need to be crippled to get them to work properly. I bet the initial run of quad cores will actually be crippled eights. Once they get the yields up and (are forced) to compete in the budget market, they will start manufacturing 4-cores and have good enough yields to sell them whole.

Seen a lot of speculation on hardware sites about how much performance competition BD will give Sandybridge. I think that's just enthusiasts getting caught up in their personal interests. If AMD can provide an 8 integer core equivalent of even the i7-760 somewhere in the 200-300 range it will be my next main PC. If they can't do that then I'll probably OC a 2500K.

I'm pretty confident this isn't going to be another Phenom 1 launch for AMD. Although I'm not very optimistic on the OC headroom of this first round of 32nm product considering the delays. Hope they surprise me.
