So if the terrorists WILL eventually hit us, why should we wait like sitting ducks?
So, you're for a preemptive strike? Rumsfeld didn't say, "they have nukes, watch out", he said it's inevitable. If we are going to preemptively attack them now based on warnings, you'd think we would've done the same for 9/11?
Remember, Russia had U-boats lining our shores during the cold war with enough nukes on board to destroy many major cities in the U.S. Let us not be paranoid...
One also has to wonder why we have our defense secretary telling us such things. They didn't want us to hear all the warnings pre-9/11, now of all a sudden they feel it's necessary to disseminate the imminent deployment of nuclear arms upon our soil? Why? Is this the propaganda machine in full force, building up the perception of imminent danger so that our citizens will more accept the deployment of another fat man over middle-eastern soil (think about the Japanese propaganda during WWII).
This information now so easily available to us is apocryphal, at best, and I'd question it. What other reason is there to transpose our nation's people into a state of mass hysteria other than to facilitate the rationalization of more offensive measures?
I'm suspect of anything I read these days...
