Dem's took one of the last two undecided Senate seats. 50-49 in favor of Dem's. If they get that last one,.

Looks like dumbya's rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic again... I really hope this gets onto youtube soon. I gotta see dumbya and dumbsfeld stammering and trying to explain how "He'll be in office until 2008", actually meant November 8th. Do you think this is being done now to take some of the blinding white glare of the losses the gop had?

Keeping Rumsfield on through the elections was just arrogance on the White House's part. Iraq is Bush's little baby and he doesn't want to give that up, as he knows doing so will be the deathknell to his presidency. The writing, however, is now on the wall.

I find it funny, most here wanted Rums head merely double digit hours ago, and now that he resigns you're still not happy.

Just say part of it on the TV in teh cafeteria, apparently he said that he HAD to say that so the reporter would move on to the next question, he didn't want to influence the election so close to the end.

That's his story and he's sticking to it, he just got caught in a lie and admitted it.

Hi all
The talks of my demise are premature.

And since you are all excited about Rumsfeld leaving I posted my quote from the pre-election Rumsfeld thread.

I also started a thread last night about who would replace Rumsfeld if we saw a victory. link
I want my party to win as much as you guys want yours, but I am smart enough to see the writing on the wall.

Rumsfeld is to smart politically to even think about resigning before the election. Maybe him and Bush have talked about it, but doubt that.

After the election then who knows what will happen. Dems win big then Rummy is gone, if not then maybe he goes, maybe he stays.

If the Democrats win the Senate and 30+ seats in the house then Rumsfeld is almost certainly gone.

Therefore, who should replace him?
It would have to be someone with a strong military background and someone seen as an uniter.

Well, of course not. Yesterday will end up being just as much a defeat for the bloggers as it was Bush. Bush's own party will turn against him, Iraq will end, and the bloggers will end up being rebels without a cause.

edit: I couldn't be happier with the result.

He HAD to say it???? Who the fvck does he think he's fooling? Maybe himself, he never says stuff he has to say, only things he believes, he's said that himself. What a festering pile of maggot filled rat crap he is.
Poor little dumbya, born with a silver foot in his mouth (RIP Ann Richards)

You mean you needed some time to wipe that egg off your face, right?
Eggs aren't that brown, and they don't smell that bad, unless they're rotten.

Nice to see that his replacement ran the CIA.

Guess that means your liberals will still have something to bitch about.

I predict a very fast conformation when congress holds its lame duck session.
No way the GOP leaves this to next years congress. Otherwise Democrats will turn it into some platform to talk about torture.
